Rumoured to be in for a loan deal for him... Does Rafa think he can get the best out of him? Do we agree?
An improvement on Joselu, which is no real compliment. Maybe him and Gayle could work, but I'd seriously hope for another signing, even if it's a lesser known that has a tidy record for goals. Increase our chances if one out of the two end up being useful.
Saw him play in Portugal a couple of seasons ago for Sporting against Benfica Looked decent - very strong, pretty quick and direct Wouldn't get bossed about certainly - think he'd be a decent option for us personally
I bet Joselu would still start ahead of him. I reckonwe could sign Harry Kane and Rafa would still play that nacker ahead of him!
What do you think? I've never seen him play, or at least I can't remember seeing him play. £28m suggests he's got something about him. Not playing much for Leicester suggests he hasn't. Premier League stats last season were a goal every 182 minutes, 7 goals with 4 assists which is pretty decent actually. Most likely better than we have at the moment and at least isn't brand new to the league. Would rather have Sturridge on loan but this lad is more realistic I think.
He looked solid for Lisbon for a good few seasons. But I think he shares a lot of similarities with Soldado - just not enough movement to make good in this league.
I suppose the question is would we prefer Slimani (or anyone actually) to Mitrovic who Rafa just will not play? Mitrovic just isn't Rafa's cup of tea so anyone would be an improvement if they might actually have a chance of getting on the pitch.
I think he could be great, he was rated when he came to Leicester as being a Vardy type of player with added ability in the air. Just an issue to me that he's probably demotivated by his time not really firing them in at Leicester, and coming to this club at a time like this when the manager seems to be in this negative funk and the existing squad is restless, will probably not lead to us getting the best out of him.
That is definitely not a good thing, Soldado could not convert anything other than a PK while in the EPL. Saw him play against the Chicago Fire - even their CB's engulfed him on set pieces.
He's definitely an upgrade on Joselu, him coming in probably means bye bye to Mitro. This could add 10-15 million to the budget, god knows we need every pound we can get.
Mitrovic, has never, and will never, have the pace to be a top striker in either the Premier League or the Championship and I don't recall saying he would. I simply said that I would like the club to be capable of attracting a slightly better striking option than someone from Leicester City's reserves. Andy Carroll would be a good start.
Joker by name Joker by nature. Andy Carroll!!! If he plays 10 full matches in a row this season i'll be surprised.
Injury prone for sure but he's a better option than Slimani. Sturridge is injury prone too but I think many would welcome him here. We need a proven scorer at Premier League level and both Sturridge and Carroll fit that bill. Perhaps if they're so injury prone, we could buy them both and the other one could play whilst the other sits with the Physio
