    So I've just watched the Lone Ranger (Johnny Depp)

    The opening scene is of a fairground set in 1933....and if you listen closely you can hear the tune of The Blaydon Races playing.

    An 18th century north east folk song being played at a San Francisco fair..though it was a bit weird.

    Writing of the song was credited to Trevor Thornton according to the film....and not George Ridley who actually wrote it.

    It's a fooking outrage I tells ya !

    Seem to remember there was a bit of controversy about this in the past, somebody reckoned Ridley bought it off somebody else for a few coppers.
