No!.....don't be silly he's partnering Rooney and Messi! That's Fred Rooney from The Bull's Head near Grimethorpe and V.Messi from El-****oos in the Emirates. Surprised you haven't heard any hot rumours from cider country.
Marvin trying his luck at Plymouth, well at least they signed Andres Gurrieri on the wing to supply Marvin with the bullets... but they will soon get to realise he couldn't hit a barn door with a with 30 ton truck!!
snow what? i reckon our marv will do a jamie cureton for argyle. he is ideally suited to league 2, and do not quote aj, but our marv could score 20+ for plymouth. stand on me mush!
Are these rumours about Cody Macdonald and Davide Somma training with us true? Did we even suffer the indignity of being turned down by Akinfenwa? Will we go back to loan signings ?(Beranho has been mentioned). If we do not get some answers soon it is no wonder people are getting restless. Surely the new strike force (whoever they are) need a proper pre-season together so we can hit the ground running at the start of the season . Come on GT and Rowland, open the cheque book and sign some players when the moths have flown away!
I've read somewhere that several have turned us down, but that is someone like you or me posting that opinion! I'm sure that by Friday we'll have at least one player on board. If it is Davide Somna then let's hope we have good medical insurance.
many have turned us down, how about lunchtime o'booze the irish lad is he still in graham's sights, or irohito ichifani, believed to be on is way from onshu.
young tom now believed to be training in the hall of mirrors at towyn funfair. he has beaten himself twice now.
The Shropshire Star reports we have been turned down by Jack Compton (a left winger) who preferred the presumably more lucrative contract offered by the recently relegated Hartlepool. Looking at Compton's record (though he is still young) it seems dubious whether he is even good enough to improve our team. With the season rapidly approaching we have been turned down by several mediocre players, no more strikers have been signed and Grandison is not coming back either. I thought last summer was bad but this is turning out to be even worse. Can anyone cheer me up a little as I forsee nothing but a grim relegation struggle at the moment.
I don't think you're missing out on anything with Compton tbh, he couldn't get into our team during the three months he was with us, and we were beyond woeful last season. I see both you and us are the bookies red hot favourites to go down this season. Let's hope we can both beat the odds!!
Thanks for the thought col_umike 7. Many years ago (in the Mike Walker playing era) I was at university in Colchester and often went to watch them and I still look out for their results. Hope you have a good season.
Somewhere sat at home, is a young forward recently released from a top flight team who'll become desperate and sign on at the meadow. He'll do a job for a while, maybe even sleeping with half of source bar, before accepting a move to the championship before floating from club to club before representing Chester. Mark my words.
it is starting to look pretty bleak now, we are very close to the start of the new season, and i just think now GT has tightened up at the back a bit he might just go for a couple of loan strikers all through the year until he sees one pop up on a free that might tickle his fancy for a singing, not ideal but RW is holding his wallet tight shut that's obvious now and i don't think our playing budget will be as big as last years, we all hoped for a bit of money being released with the half decent crowds we got at the beginning of last season but its not to be........on a much chirpier note ive just signed an 18 month contract to work at airbus with HTC Helicopters, and guess what? ...the guy who im working with is a Wrexham share holder..and the guy that runs the machine shop is a mad Chester supporter...so oh bloody joy ...so long as the banter doesn't turn into a blood bath ill be happy
Tinned Hats, I am with you - I did not renew my season ticket because I do not believe the club are serious about us being a League One side (and brave talk of the Championship is just laughable) and I do not think I will be the only one. What a joke - four weeks until the new season starts and we have got a single striker who did not score a goal last season- we must be the laughing stock of the Football league.
just a reminder our sole striker was top corer in the reserves and is destined to be very busy up front this season. I think we can get a team together for galatasaray. most of our problems stem from a lack of investment in our youth. sort it gt. whether moths fly from wallets or not, we are in for a difficult season. there is no need to team bond at fairbourne, as a pack of uhu will have nothing to stick to. sort it roland and graham, or find someone who can sort it. fs! my arse!
KDS, I take exception to your remark about a fair weather supporter - you are very quick to call people names without letting the facts get in the way.I have followed the Shrews for over fifty years and have had a season ticket for the last three despite living 80 miles away. My point is the club do not deserve blind loyalty when they are trying to run a League 1 side on a Blue Square Premier budget. I do not expect us to splash the cash a la Bournemouth or Swindon but I do expect us to make a reasonable effort to sign some players who could make an impact in League 1.
My point is, to withdraw your support a la season ticket is counter-productive. The more you spend with the club the greater chance we have of competing. The same argument applies to those who advocate boycotting club merchandise because it does not contain the loggerheads motif. It is no good throwing arguments about being a supporter for X number of years or how far away you live. You have chosen to withdraw financial support when the going gets tough. In a sense, I am glad you take exception to what I said. It might make you re-examine your stance.
