Now this sounds crazy but I'm sure others heard this around the ground yesterday Here goes, apparantly when city are relagated The club is going into administration,if this is the case Lansdown truly has thrown the towel in. Surley he has to much to loose by doing this or he has said enough is enough.
No can do, weren't Southampton punished 30 points at the start of the season for trying to pull a fast one like this...?
Some will say no smoke without fire but I have been very concerned about his total invisibility during a bad season. Leaders are supposed to lead and right now I don't think we have any. Time alone will tell and I hope banksy is right.
To be fair to SL, if I were him I wouldn't do interviews either. SL is not the chairman anymore and shouldn't be doing interviews any more frequently than the Sheik owners of Man City should or any other owners. The owner should stay out the press and let the appointed chairman do their job. If he thinks Sextone aint up to it then by all means fire him, but it isn't SLs job any more to come on the radio/tv and keep us updated on the club.
I goggled it and I think I found the source of it http://www.football-rumours.com/soccer-rumours.htm 29 Mar 2012 11:18:39 Bristol city will consider enterring Administration if relegated, huge losses and wage bills miles to high have left Owner Steve Landsdowne considering his options and looks increasing likely to concentrate on Bristol RFC whom he took control off recently (he sees this as a quicker better option for big success) Believe (15) Unbelieve (9) Sigh. This is paranoia taken from a very old thread on OTIB. Since then, Lansdowne Has publically committed himself to both BCFC, BRU and the new stadium. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I also posted this 6 months ago, I have a family member who works in the office at Ashton gate and it is rife that BCFC will go into administration in the next 6 months, -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We have made a big loss but cant see this happening any time soon especailly with the bid for the new stadium still live. comes back in a couple of years and then maybe it might be true as no doubt we are heading that way but they got a nice chunk of money from selling Maynard and did not invest that money.
Andy, you I believe but the football rumour site is hardly credible, according to the same site.. '..30 Mar 2012 14:13:57 Further To The Bristol City to enter Admin post... I hear If Bristol Rugby Get promotion to the Rugby Premiership & City are relegated from the Championship, Lansdown will be pulling his money from BCFC inc support for the new stadium at Ashton Vale, Mr Lansdown has people looking at sites for a new stadium for the rugby club (former rolls royce site and clifton rugby club are favourites) or he will look to buy into Bristol Rovers new stadium at UWE..' I thought the "gasheads" would come into it somewhere along the line...
dear god we wont go into admin if we go down, people make this sort of stuff up because there bored, when the truth is only the people managing the club know what will happen if we go down
Admire you Shiny for that, but the sad fact is the club has been on the slide for 3 years now, and nothing I have seen this season has convinced me we will retain our status. Forget 'Believe' for now, just 'Hope and Pray'
