Hope it doesn't happen but if so I hope the club demand at least 18m. To every other club looking in Sess is not worth 18m and he aint but for us and what he does for the team he sure is worth that amount of money. If he left who could we go for that could play the role Sess does and just as good if not better and then there is the matter of getting that player to come to the North East as well as fitting into our wage structure? I cannot think of anyone at all in the Premier League so then we would be looking into Europe and sometimes players coming in from overseas don't adapt. As I said 18m maybe Pienaar + Bassong + 12m
He wasn't planned to be a squad player when they bought him though, he was bought to be a pivotal part of the team, but he didn't work out.
Agree with this Defoe & 8-10m. Then use the cash to buy fletcher. Sacrificing sess for 2 forwards would be worth it IMO
and those who say Defoe is a horrible man, we dont have to sleep with him, he scores goals and we need someone who scores goals
I'd love to see this list where every Premier League players wage is listed alongside each clubs individual wage cap mind...
How do you know this Billy? To suggest a player like Modric is on 60k a week is wholly unrealistic, Adebayor was on 160k a week for City, they paid 100k a week for Spurs to have him? I know Spurs have a cap, but it can't be 60k a week, it simply can't. I'm not falling for that Syd, it'll be collie porn or similar.
Victor moses would be an ideal replacement for Sess, but now Chelsea are linked I doubt we'd be able to sign him!
I agree, Moses may not fancy Chelsea, as he wouldn't get games, I think he'd be awesome for us, and be a real fans favourite as well.
Cant think of a better attacking midfielder to ever grace the shores of the River Wear than Sessegnon, a replacement would either cost too much, be signed by a bigger club or simply not want to come to SAFC. We will never find another Sess type player that wants to play for SAFC and took a wage cut to come here like Sess, hope to god he stays as without him we are just another QPR/Reading/Southampton/West ham/Stoke (No disrespect). 8 goals & 9 assists and only second behind David Silva for creating the most goal scoring opportunities, cant replace that cheap.
I totally agree. Sess natural talent is so far above anything i've seen at Sunderland in 32 years it's untrue. There is the justified school of thought that we would change the system all round if we didn't need to accomadate Sess, and maybe be a more compact side, but he genuinely is a special player, it's a joy having him for me. I do think Moses, as mentioned, can be a similar player to Sess though, and I do think we can get him.
