    That is a bit close!
Not sure what to say as Sky were wrong last year. Would be happy with mid-table but hope the future looks brighter. If we get relegated I don't want to go near Twitter or read anything from TF.

Can’t see nor hope Stoke come first.
Can’t see Birmingham being above us.
Think we’ll figure around mid table.

In the second tier for me
    But it’s cobblers
    Boro 100% winners for me
Brentford are a lovely side so can see them doing well
    Stoke no way

At the moment 21st sounds about right. We have lost 3 of our best back 5 in Ned, Smithies and Robinson, plus the versatile and experienced Perch, and have brought in only 1 CB replacement, and have lost Furlong to injury for about 3 months. So struggling even more than we have the last 2 seasons looks the most likely to me unless we can strengthen the defense at the least before the deadline, and then without losing any more of our best, like Freeman.

    Here's my prediction...

We will win some games we didn't expect.
We will lose to some duff teams.
We will concede a last minute goal.
We will score a last minute goal.
We will have days of loving Mclaren.
" Mclaren out" will be said at least once by end of September :)

And where will we end up? No idea!

    You R'ssssss

This, at the moment the squad is weaker than last year & unless the youngsters are able to come in & step up which is largely what we appear to be relying on then we may well struggle. That said if manage to bring in another 2-3 players & not lose any then can see a mid table finish as being realistic.

    Had a rethink

    Looking at the other teams
We maybe straight into a relegation fight come Winter.

21st? One place above relegation. Hmmmmm.
Whilst our team has lost some strong players, we are yet to see equal abilities allowed to come in.
In fact most clubs would be looking for some small improvements in weaker positions for their coming season, while replacing potentially aging player(s) or contract ending player(s).
That said we do have some good young prospects coming in. While these pundits see SM’s drilling as a negative, I see this as a positive for these players as they learn to understand their key roles while also being able to express their skills and abilities. Defence will be a worrying concern for me, so we should all be looking to see how we perform there - we all know how hard it is to have to come back from a goal down, especially if you do not have a prolific forward line. I’m a believer in a strong spine through the team - not sure how strong ours is yet - we will learn a lot in those first ten games.

21st? I find it hard to see us down that low. Mid-table is what I’m expecting. As Surrey outlined above it will be a mixed season. There are some good clubs in this league, and equally there will be some poor ones too. I want us to be better, but we haven’t strengthened enough.

Given how we've had to cut our cloth survival again has to be the main aim. I'd be happy to finish above where we were last season as it would show good steady progression on and off the field. Would obviously hope for mid table or higher.

How depressing is that - if it were reality. Guess work, albeit educated guess work.

So many variables especially that elusive component of 'team' which, when working well, is worth everything.

I can understand Brentford finishing above us (immensely annoying) but Rotherham? Surely not.

I really hope it is not that bleak. There will be cries for Olly to come back if it is!

Think I'm being optimistic tipping us around 15-16th. We are nowhere near a top ten finish. Succesfull teams are built from the back, we have regressed badly defensively regarding personel. To top heavy, and that is even without a good number 9 to lead the line.

My biggest hope is that someone brings this post back up in May and feed me plenty of humble pie. Highly unlikely unfortunately.

I am buying into this team wholesale (but I always do, my glass is always full, but not too full, because I do not want to spill any)

I am going for 9-10th. I think we are going to surprise some teams, I think we are going to win a few away games and we are going to be a steady team that keeps playing and keeps fighting.
Not sure we have enough class to go all the way to the top 6, but I can see us being higher than last year...easily

The idiots who predicted us in 21st place are obviously Brentford fans! (Brentford 3rd ha, ha ha)
We won't miss Smithies, Freeman is going nowhere and Eze is the next Adel.
    6th place finish for me.
    Come on u RRrrrsssss!!!!!

I believe we are going to do just fine. I dont excactly know the reason for our possible succes but i feel it very strongly in my guts. Maybe im wrong , maybe not. As you noticed in FiFA WC everything is possible in football ( yeah i know that it was tournament and not a long serie) .

Defence looks our issue. Let's see what happens in the remainder of the transfer window.
