A day earlier than previously planned. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...rns-to-sky-sports-for-its-biggest-ever-season Gary Neville will return to Sky Sports for the launch of its biggest ever season of Premier League football in August with a new range of programming and experts. At least he had a go. Didn't work out but fair play to him. Ballsy going back, too as I doubt he needs the money.
He seems to be taking the shots about his time at Valencia on the chin. He even welcomed Carragher to analyse the games he lost.
He would do the arrogant deluded ****er that he is. I saw his brother on tv t'other day saying actually Gary did a good job... If you want to be a manager and have that hunger and love for the game you go and do it. Not piss about at it. I'm sick of hearing about these players, "doing all their badges". Jamie Carragher, oh he's passionatae about the game, got all the skills to go and be a top top manager etc etc. What does he do? Straight into the studio. The tv studio's are full of ex pro's who have never had the balls to do the job or have only played at it for a short time. Shearer thinking he should be the England manager!! WTF.
Who would you prefer the studios to be full of? If they only had ex players on without their coaching badges they'd generally only know the most detail about their own position. Essentially if someone's got their badges they're likely to be more of an expert than an ex pro who spends his time doing things away from the game.
Who would you have rather listened to at the Euro's. Wenger and Fergie or Ferdinand and Carragher? A long time ago people like Cloughie and Malcolm Allison were in the studio. Now bland boring bottless ex pro's without the guts to go and put all those coaching badges to good use.
You should know about bland and boring mate, 'are you off to the football John' is the most interesting post I've seen you come out with on here this month
That works for the Euros... but it doesn't necessarily work for the league if a current manager is essentially juggling two jobs, at least not on a consistent basis. The TV companies need stability and people on contracts that can't sack off punditry on a Sunday because of traffic coming back from the game on Saturday for example. I honestly wouldn't have understood a word Ferguson would have said and Wenger probably 'didn't see it' as soon as half time rolls round and it's his time to shine. The factors in becoming a football pundit are more than just the amount you've won as a manager... Football knowledge Recognisable to the public Character/Charisma Know the right people I think a lot of studios are way off on the third point and even the second, but essentially point 4 probably trumps the others.
http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/mike...nited-legend/story-29596758-detail/story.html Neville backing his old mate Phelan, he should join him as assistant if Phelan gets the job full time
Because his opinion is obviously such utter bollocks, G Nev is the best pundit on TV for years and I remember the old style Ron Manager numpties they used to have on. Fair enough the initial comment is most likely gin soaked Conny Club blather about the 'olden days' but even so..
