I was just off to my local(ish) when I was warned the last local in Lyme to have Sky has pulled the plug after outrageous demands for a 50% increase. They now want £2,000 a month when sometimes he has just a couple watching. I can really see Sky losing so many customers they will lose the rights to broadcast the Premier. Gutted as it's a decent boozer, but I don't have a reason to go there so often now:emoticon-0101-sadsm

Trouble is that pubs in big cities/towns are going to make that £2000 back easily in revenue generated from people watching. It's the small village pubs that'll not be able to afford it. Sad really as it'll be one less source of community for football fans in small villages up and down the country.

Part of the logic may be they are trying to get custom from the punters who usually go to the pub and if the pub pays up they get the extra from that, they are a ruthless business who basically don't care who they stiff to defend their share of the market. Amazon, Netflix and others are set to challenge them bigtime in the near future, sadly a lot of pubs may not be around much longer to benefit from their eventual demise...

Should be regulated by revenue and not be a set price, not fair on small businessses. I realise it would be hard to implement and control. But if you have a maximum price of £2000, they could give smaller businesses a chance of seeking exemption based on revenue. This way there's an even playing field and the customers doesn't have to lose out.

Sooner sky loses football the better
I went from having sSky Sports at 300$ a year for if I was lucky 6 games a year to $200 a year for every game when sky lost the football in nz
****ers have it back but they don't show the championship unless you pay for sports and then pay extra for bein sports
Would much rather pay 5 quid a game to qpr if I can be bothered getting up at three in the morning
