just flagged up on sky he is having talks as i type according to them more promising, would be a cracking capture as long as wages are sensible.
Well RR if you try to capture a 6million ? pound player you have to pay the wages that go with it, that's the way football is today.
Not keyed up on the salary situation back in jolly olde so tell me how many of you are earning 40,000/+annum? I can't get my head around why a footballer can earn more in a week than a lot of people earn in a year. The world has gone crazy.
don't get me wrong I'd looooove to get him, but not if as rumours (crappy paper talk) have it, hes being forced out to us, or play with the reserves at palace, I want a player who WANTS to play for us, not got too!!!!!!
Well Cotts suggested they would know more on Wednesday, and Sky said we were talking with him this afternoon. No word at 18.30, so maybe the deal is dead in the water
Rumour Mill: Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle stalls on Bristol City move in hope of Norwich City interest 19:32 12 August 2015 please log in to view this image Crystal Palace's Dwight Gayle is rumoured to be interested in a move to Norwich City. Picture: Anthony Devlin/PA Wire. Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle is reportedly waiting to see if Norwich City’s interest is serious before agreeing to join Bristol City. The 24-year-old former Peterborough forward looked set to join the Championship new boys after a £6million fee was agreed. However Gayle has been linked with the Canaries throughout this summer and, according to The Sun, is hoping the Robins’ interest will now also draw a bid from City. Alex Neil has already admitted he hopes to sign a new front-man but it remains to be seen if Gayle, who has scored 12 goals in 48 Premier League games for the Eagles, is a player he is interested in. With Gayle yet to sign, Bristol have stepped up their interest in Brentford’s Andre Grey as well and are said to be battling Hull City for the £7m-rated striker. • Released Canaries defender Carlos Cuellar has found himself a new club, returning to the Spanish top flight with Almeria. The 33-year-old played in La Liga with Osasuna at the start of his career before success in Scotland with Rangers and England with Aston Villa and Sunderland. The Spaniard made 10 appearances last season for City.
On sky sports transfer centre just now. "A deal is edging closer, we understand that Dwight Gayle has met Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill earlier today for talks" Not a lot in it, but thought I'd share.
He's holding out for Norwich but Palace want him to come to us. Norwich will have to bid 10m upfront where we only have to pay 6. Hopefully that will but Norwich off.
inclined to a agree with red andy, he has to want to play for us, but then again if he"s in talks I have no doubts cotts will sell the club to him, and compared to palace/ Croydon, Bristol sells itself as a destination.
Bristol City Twitter: SC: "There's nothing more I can tell you (on Dwight Gayle). We've had a couple of conversations, not face to face." SC: "We'll have a timescale and we won't stay on it for ever. It's getting to a crunch time." SC: "He (Dwight Gayle) wants to think about it. That can only go for so long. There's only a limited period of time we can wait."
Fingers ccrossed he decides he wants to join us. I get the impression SC is (rightly) getting iimpatient....
tomorrow is d day,i understand he wants to stay in prem, but if ours is the only offer and he does not want to come then don't come.
IF YOU NEED TO THINK ABOUT IT...not worth the hassle go for someone else.... should we sign him needs to be a 4 year contract...and no more than £1m a year
He doesn't want to come here and if we have to twist his arm then my suggestion is to forget him. We only need p[layers that are committed to our cause and not someone who will want away as soon as he gets a better offer. Contracts are virtually worthless these days because the players hold the key and can turn it whenever their brains, or their agents, turn to things more fanciful. Let's move on.
We don't want a player who would rather be somewhere else especially for 6M, there was a lot of talk about the team spirit last season lets concentrate on that.
