I'm really glad I decided to take out sky sports in April. We've had a few televised home fixtures since I got it, well worth the money. Not.
Well we haven't been picked by BT or Sky for their festive line-ups, QPR get two away games despite being dreadful to watch http://www1.skysports.com/football/...unveils-live-december-premier-league-fixtures http://sport.bt.com/sportfootball/n...bleheaders-lead-festive-feast-S11412115899763 Thanks for the merge, completely missed this thread!
Glad we're not on TV, I think sometimes City get a little stage fright, bye the Liverpool game of course.
I've seen us win plenty of times on TV. We obviously get on TV more when we play bigger clubs, therefore our chances of winning are less, but it's a myth that we play worse on Sky.
Thank Christ for that. These tv games make it very difficult for all of us who have to travel distances. Frankly I couldn't care less if we don't get another tv game at home.
The myth came about after one season(I can't remember which), when we lost pretty much every televised game.
Me either, our last 8/9/10 or so tv appearances have all been at home, excluding wembley trips. Does my chuffing head in, be nice to be able to sit down and watch us play away on the big screen.
I thought it was more that we had never won on Sky for several years (the only one I can remember is a 3-0 defeat at Spotland in 98/99).
I don't remember not hearing the claim. It feels like it was there even before tv. Weren't we the first ever game on Sky?
The first Premier League game on Sky was Nottingham Forest v Liverpool, but I'm not sure if that was the first game they ever broadcast.
