Not the player we need, IMO.

Think this means Diarra is off ,but i surpose we need cover until Sandro is fit.I also agree not the player we need, just another Harry favorite.

I'm not surprised by this at all.

I dunno lads, PFA player of the year. He's a good addition. I'm certainly not unhappy about him potentially joining us.

I agree we still need strength elsewhere, but scott parker is a good signing over all.

does make you wonder how we'll keep all of our central midfielders happy though...

if this happens, i hope it wouldn't spell the end for Niko. even the few mins he had on the pitch last night, he looked sharp. he's really trying to prove a point at the moment.

Agreed. I think Palcios will be on his way out and hopefully Jenas will be joining him.

even with those two leaving schteff (I'd forgotten who they were to be honest), I still can't see how we'll keep the midfielders happy.

that's modric(hopefully), sandro, THudd, Niko, Livermore (looks like he'll be included this season), Pienaar and VDV who could all be used in central mid.

there's only room for 11 men, of which 2-3 of these will be central midfielders and i havent even included jenas or wilson. let alone if diarra signs! (which he cant be surely?)

Guillem Bullsh*t, i mean "balague" has claimed that Lass is holding out for more money, so that could have easily broken down now, just like Pat said above.

Reckon this is a decent signing if true!... Could you have kept Diarra happy with Sandro in the team?... Parker will be happy to be back in the premiership and wont mind sitting out a few.. sandro will learn a lot from him aswell... remember the Davids signing. experienced and still a very good player imo!

One more good striker, Damiao would be good and we are ok!... bring Kane through who looked good last night and we have a strong squad.. gwt rid of the deadwood, and get the new spanish lad re-igniting Lennon!!.. COYS!!!!!!<party>

We do play with 5 in the midfield though and Redknapp sees Bale as a future left-back, so he may be moved to that position if/when Assou-Ekotto goes to the African Nations in January.
Pienaar's primarily a winger, Livermore can be loaned out again and we seem to have injury problems, too.

And there was I recalling that David Sullivan stated that he wouldn't sell a single player to us if we kept up our legal fight for the Olympic Stadium...

I'd have thought Hudd, Sandro and Modric will be easily kept happy as they'll be regulars, VDV already has his own role and Livermore, Niko and Pienaar will play in the Europa League with the latter two being back up for our wingers. So far as Parker, I can see him getting games, Huddlestone's picking up a lot of injuries these days and there's not doubt we need another midfielder who can put in the tackles as Kranjcar and Livermore didn't look up to it.

Surely we will be seeing the back of Palacios, Bentley and The White Cafu. Parker will be an improvement on Wilson, and if we can find any takers stupid enough for Hutton and Bentley I will be happy.

Wonder if it'll be a permanent transfer or a loan. I remember Sky reporting a few weeks back that West Ham were keen on the idea of loaning him out for the year and hoping to have him back if they got promoted. Personally I'd rather have him on loan. Probably has 1 maybe 2 years of top drawer footy in him so getting him in for a year, not only helps the team out now especially with the injury problems at the moment but can help the likes of Sandro and Livermore in the long run.

Putting aside our ongoing differences with West Ham, I think on face value Parker is a very good player and would strengthen our first team. I actually think that he would perform every bit as well as Diarra, and would definitely add more attacking threat and the odd goal. Also, he has some leadership qualities that Modric, Pav and Sandro are missing.
Wouldn't want to pay more than £5-6M though.

Finding takers for Bentley appears to be a very hard task... i was hoping that his old club Norwich might be interested again, but no-one appears to want him. Anyone have any idea what his wages are?... he was tipped as a top class player when he came so must be on a big wage.

Any one think a cheeky bid for Adam Johnson should be made... he will struggle now as Mancini appears to favour others and with the signing of Nasri it may effect his England place... ??

Johnson would be quality but I can't see it happening now that we got that winger on loan.

I think he's on around £50-60k per week - and I'm still waiting for Comolli to come in with a "reasonable" bid of £18.5m for the usueless door stop that he's become...
