Was wondering if this might change now the new personnel are in. Will Tarbs continue as skipper or will Barton be given the armband ? I've got a feeling that a few things could change and this might be one. Thoughts?
Tarbs will probably keep it, either til Jan or when he pulls a strop and it will be given to Barton. Cant wait to see them two on the pitch together.
Leave it as it is,it makes Adel feel important,even though Derry is the player really running the show.Can see it being the same but with Barton doing what Derry's been doing.
Maybe, wouldn't surprise me though if Barton got it, with Warnock dropping all these hints about dropping Adel. Joey's the main man now
If being captain is influencing Tarbs beneficially in terms of team work then let him keep it. If it's a distraction now that we're in the promised land and he needs to focus on his game then take it away. Derry would get my vote. Raises the question of who would start out of him and Faurlin alongside Barton. Be disappointing for either but would start with Derry and use Faurlin to provide the legs later in a match. SD club captain regardless because he knows about motivating all players whereas Barton's red mists will cause disharmony. Barton can have it in Derry's absence because at least he'll know he's not number one ultimately.
Barton cant be skipper yet.....he's only just joined and fitting in. Captain is all about leadership and that requires a certain respect from the other players, not the new guy on the block IMO. Barton will be captain in a year or so though.
