If we ever needed to see the importance of winning one! If Fulham had won they'd have had 19 points and we'd have had 20!
I never really understood the term 6 pointer, but from what I understand of it, the Fulham game was one.
By denying them 3 and gaining 3 yourself, you are a full 6 points better off. As someone else said, instead of us being on 20 and them on 19, they are now on 16 and we are on 23, which is 1 point vs 7, thus 6 points 'gained'.
Me too! Was very very worried going in and then at half time, but when Elmo and then Koren scored I allowed myself to relax a little!
hahaha... what time is it over there? must be early in morning where you are. it is 2:20pm here in TX
Nah I'm in England at the moment mate, travelling round watching the boys. Sitting in a hostel in Liverpool as we speak, it's 8.22pm here.
Just back from the Everton-Soton game today, everyone here's pretty friendly contrary to what I'd heard! Maybe if we knock them off on NYD they may be a little more hostile...
**** that, I'd rather have a memorable win over a massive team than a boring 1-0 v Crystal Palace. Don't care too much about the points gained and lost or whatever as I have enough confidence to think we'll stay up comfortably.
I had a faint dream when coming over that we could be essentially safe by the time I leave. Now, I leave after the Sunderland match. In that time we face: Liverpool (A) Chelsea (H) Norwich (A) Tottenham (H) Palace (A) Sunderland (A) I think if we get 35 points we're safe, so that's 4 more wins. Now, that is incredibly doable, considering I think we're a better team than Spurs, and could do them at home, unless they bring in some solid reinforcements. I think the momentum of winning 6-0 will really get the boys going, and we honestly could be safe by the time I head home!
