SIX MUST SEE QPR FIXTURES HERE to see the full fixture list Saturday, 8th August - Charlton Athletic – The Valley Opening day of the season. The sun is shinning and optimism fills the air. Everyone believes their team will win the league, no one thinks a season of mid-table mediocrity awaits. QPR fans will travel in big numbers to South East London and after nearly three months without football the DIY and gardening can wait. See you there! Saturday, 15th August - Cardiff City – Loftus Road For most this will be the first chance for QPR fans to see Chris Ramsey’s new look side. It also has the added spice of being against Cardiff City. QPR fans will be hoping to have the last laugh with the R’s Division Two Play-Off Final defeat against the Bluebirds at the Millennium Stadium in 2003 still fresh in their minds. Saturday, 31st October - Brentford – Griffin Park Mention Brentford against QPR at Griffin Park and Rangers fans will probably remember one match above all others. Marc Bircham’s stunning 90th minute winner in 2003 is still talked about 13-years later and with a rare chance for QPR fans to enjoy terracing at Griffin Park it should definitely be on your bucket list this year. Saturday, 30th January – Nottingham Forest – City Ground Ha, you may laugh given the R’s wretched record in Nottingham (No wins in 30 attempts) but it has to be our year this time out, surely? Can you afford not to be at the City Ground when QPR finally manage a win? Something to tell the grandchildren for sure. Saturday, 13th February - Fulham – Loftus Road We love the blood and thunder of a good old derby at Loftus Road and in the absence of Chelsea this is the next best thing. Bragging rights are all square with both sides on 13 wins each. West London is R’s? Saturday, 7th May – Bristol City – Loftus Road The end of seasons in recent years has rarely been dull at QPR. Two promotions, two relegations and staying up on the final day in the last five years are testament to that. There’s sure to be plenty of ups and downs before May history dictates. Back in 1971 I attended this match at The Valley as a young lad (17 yrs old), all alone, train up from Hampshire, it was freezing on the enormous terrace back then, behind the call (see photo) ate hot chestnuts to keep warm - as per my usual luck, had to endure a 2-1 loss in a match a bit like our 1-0 loss there last time out in the Championship, we showed some promise, but could not score. Sat 27 Nov 1971 Charlton Athletic 2 - 1 Q.P.R. Second Division Both sets of supporters were intermingled with no nasty aggro. My Dad had fun planning the trip out for me - ground location, best tube routing, where to stand etc - he should have come with me. I recall on the BR trip home fell asleep, likely after too much beer & pork pies and missed my stop, so was really late getting home! please log in to view this image The Valley in the 1970s
There's nothing spicy about a Tuesday night in Derby. I'm restricted mostly to midweeks this season so will probably be there. A lot of people talking them up but I'm not so sure.

Could be our pre-match meeting point. Looks like Wolves will be my first game unless Charlton is moved for tv which it probably will be.
