Beckford is better, cheaper, more proven and doesnt have the injury past

    and quicker.

**** me, for a big lad, Beckford can't half shift himself.

Him and Vassell will cause defences all sorts of problems with their direct running and pace.

Proud Maynard thinks he will get a prem call,it's in his back pocket strong rumours re Blackburn,ha if they stay up?
Maynard was in the driving seat,he dictates where he wants to go,lesta was not on the radar.
He played well at your place, wanted to show the media what he can do.
Since then he has not performed but kept his place.
Personally think Brett pitman is a better alround striker will a deadly shot on him.
We want our manager gone, the club are keeping quiet,no response,no vote of confidence.
This 32000 world class stadium that is going up will not be required in league One.
    The natives ain't happy.

Fair play to Maynard. He is out for himself and i hold nothing against him. He is a decent player but prem teams dont want him at that price. Too much of a risk. Im surprised your board let it get this far. You should of told him to sign a new deal or be sold as now you wont get the best deal like you could of got off us.

Were more then happy with Beckford and you kept Maynard

..long way to go yet but imagine Beckford AND Maynard starting up front for us..... but really happy we didn't sign him and don't think we ever will because he doesn't want to be here, good luck to him at Blackburn / Bolton / Wigan etc where ever he goes he'll line his pockets and secure his future... feel a little sorry for Bristol City fans though..

I really have no idea where this injury prone tag came from for Nicky, he had ONE injury last year that needed careful management to avoid further complication caused by bringing him back too early (we learnt our lesson on that one with Steve Brooker) - when he did come back at the end of last season, he scored 7 in 8...

The gloating of some Leicester fans is a little premature chaps, wait until our new manager comes along and our performances pick up (as they will) and Nicky starts banging the goals in again...

Yeah just imagine we're like those surfers on the old Guinness advert, waiting for the wave, during the tune to Leftfield's 'Phat Planet'. Until then, we'll say we're glad he didn't come here. Just our mad amazing manager Sven who wanted him - got Becks now so nay problem. Knowing our luck, we'll get him for free in January, but he definitely won't be taking our penalties... King can still do that.

For a bunch of 'fans' who were desperate for Maynard to go to them at any price when they were losing at home to the likes of us, and then having to settle for an also ran in Beckford, you don't have change your allegiances.......

But don't worry I still reckon you'll bottle it.

I would have been pleased if we signed Maynard, but for around £3M. Your Chairman/Manager should have taken Sven's arm off when that crazy offer came in and now he is likely to do a runner in the Jan window for much much less.

Its clear who is to blame for your sorry position.

the fans were never desperate-----we knew we needed a striker and we discussed the various rumours, i personally thought that maynard was a decent risk at 2m but as it became clear that he was thinking only of his agents bank balance i went off him. when the offers became 3-4-5 million i was willing him to turn us down.
his performances this season have shown that he is just an average championship striker and there is no way a team in the top 16 of the premiership will buy him.
well done bristol-=-you will go down without your £5m==and lets face it even if your board had sold him that cash would not have found its way into your relegation kitty
