Celebration by the Club: http://www.hullcitytigers.com/news/...s-other-six-goal-shows-at-the-kc-2908746.aspx
It made me wonder, before Saturday when was the last time anyone got a hat-trick for us? Stuart Elliot in 04/05 definitely, but can't remember if Deano got one in 07/08? I can't recall anyone since.
Here you go.......... Hull City hat trick scorers Player Match Goals scored Dean Windass 31 Mar 2007 v Southend United 3 Matt Fryatt 05 Feb 2011 v Scunthorpe United 3 Matt Fryatt 17 Apr 2012 v Barnsley 3
The ''first coming'' of DD - 12(?) goals in a two match cup tie, with none in the first match. Edited to add utoob clip ... it was 12!
I was four seats away from Martin Fish that night sat with a mate who had £10 on a Whitby win over 90 mins. On 89 mins he was onto a big winner. Fish sat there ashen faced until that wonderful volley by Duane Darby to level the scores at 4-4. Then we had a minor pitch invasion with a couple of City fans confronting Dol*n and Lee for their way OTT celebrations on taking Whitby Town to extra time. One of the few highlights of a very miserable era for Hull City.
We've come a long way in a relatively short period of time tubs - being ''doubled'' by near neighbours Scarborough & Scunny was no fun, it made it especially hard to stomach when you worked in Scunthorpe. The football was certainly **** but the gallows humour kept us going back. The Fish/Dolan/Lloyd/Hateley years was football for masochists ............ we were members of a ''special club''.
Saw 'em score 9 once - a 9-0 win against Oldham at B.P. in '57-'58 season. Anyone else at the game ? Remember the scorers ( Bradbury, Clarke must have been among them) ? I remember being behind the N. stand goal, but most of the goals were put in at the other end. Granddad wouldn't walk over t'other end..lazy sod. Didn't like Bunkers he said.
I was there TC and also behind the N. Stand goal but not able to help with the scorers. It was played on Easter Sat and we then played Bradford City on the Easter Mon and Easter Tuesday losing both. "After the Lord Mayors parade.............." Boothferry Park was not a happy hunting ground for Oldham. As well as the 9-0 they were beaten 8-0 in '53-54 and 6-0 in '48-49'. Was at both these games. Oldham did have high goal scoring success against us too, with home wins of 7-0 and 5-0 in the year 1934.
I can help you with the scorers: Bradbury and Colin Smith got hattricks. One each for Bulless, Cripsey and Clarke.
Here's an easy one for you OT. Which club has scored the most number of goals against us in a calendar year? Include all matches played in the year.
Thanks for the info Oregon. I'd almost forgotten about Brian Cripsey. He was a left winger who was replaced by Charlie Crickmore in '59 I seem to recall ? BTW, where did you get the info from about the scorers in that match - internet site or an historical book about City ? I'd love to get access to either/both if you have any info of site or book. Thanks if you can shed any light.
