Message from site owner: Hi, I am going to be trying to upgrade us to a new server over the next few nights. At the minute we are knocking back traffic almost every day with the 'site is too busy' message - I want to try fix this for the end of the transfer window by upgrading to a more powerful box. As a few of you who have been here before will understand, it can cause a couple of little teething issues - so thank you for your patience. .............................. ps. I am aware posts are currently duplicating themselves, I will assume this is due to the current switch from one server to another, please bear with us during this upgrade. Thanks brb
Update: The site owner upgraded the server last night. He needs to do a few tuning bits, but most of it should be there. Let me know if there are any issues. I am currently aware that SOME thread OP's cannot be edited (not affecting subsequent posts). This info has been passed on.
Just to keep everyone updated further: We are aware of a double post error still occurring sometimes on the site. It appears once you press the post reply, it may come up with an exit message, asking if you want to leave the page. Which it should not do. However, it would be normal to say yes in an attempt to get out of the page and a double post will occur for a current unknown reason. We are still working on this fault and in the meantime I will delete any/the duplicate posts I see on the Gills board. The recent changes had to be made due to the up coming transfer window closure day, otherwise the server would just keel over turning away the huge number of members trying to get on the site.
