You may of noticed that the site is experiencing problems. These include database errors where users have problems logging in and the site intermittently going down. There have also been lots of instances of multiple posts which Roller and I have been trying to clear up. We apologise for this and we appreciate how frustrating this can be for all posters. I can assure you that Roller has been constantly on the Moderator board to try and get this rectified. Just to keep our posters in the loop the Supermod brb has recently posted this on the Moderator forum. '' Sadly it appears there might not be a quick fix. Once the site gets a query it locks up the post table then in turn causes a queues of post submissions. Sometimes when the site goes down it is not always an error but can also be Maltese Mick ( The site owner ) trying to fix it...he clears the errors then they return in 3 or 4 days and each optimization causes 20 minutes down time. Mick is going to start to run a regular optimize each night (early hours) to see if that will help.'' Once again apologies to you all.
Cheers for the info nines. Any idea how long the "new banning policy" thread has to remain up? It largely doesn't apply to our board, and will bump one QPR related thread off the front page.
I agree with what you have said Grif, and I share the same sentiments too. I will consult with Roller on this later when I've finished cooking and having dinner and will let you know asap.
Thanks Swords and Col. Roller and I have decided that the banning notice will stay up for 24 hours ( So all of our regular posters can see it. ) and will only be retrieved if and when it is necessary.
That's good news! I was worried the supermods might've decreed that a it needs to be a permanent feature of every board. Nice one nines
early hours each night that's mid afternoon for you lot will cause havoc if he closes every afternoon
Do you know Queen Victoria passed through Rathdowney in 1849 and described it as a "quaint village surrounded by hills" and also described it as an "idyllic small town" - according to wikipedia.
No I didn't Finglas, thanks for that. It still was a ''quaint village surrounded by hills'' until recently. Then they started to build on every bit of available land.
