Is it under attack again or is it the volume of people discussing the magnificent final day of the greatest league in the universe?
I was trying something and pushed the wrong button, killing the site completely. Although it was going very slow before I did that.
Mick I was wondering, do all the animated clips on the Million Replies thread slow things down? They're direct links, so would cause some bandwidth issues?
nah the animation processing is all done on your browser rather than the server, the server just has to deliver the file to your browser. I'm not quite sure what it is to be honest, as it's working very fast now when it's been much slower with less users. I've got a professional in to help me as well. I'm talking to the server people about doubling the amount of RAM and getting a faster CPU on board which surely should be enough, it's about 30% more expensive but theres no point in forking out the 70% if the thing is going down all the time.
Most ever users online at 6.20pm today - was this around the same time the site crashed, looking at the post timings? I noticed the last time the server went down, there had been an increase in activity.
