Deep regrets for a Deepdale legend. R.I.P Sir Tom, a true England great.
Even the lure of Italy couldn´t get you away from P.N.E "RESPECT" <rose>

Jimmy Armfield described him as a great 'all-rounder'. A perfectionist in everything: football and business and life in general. There is a little known story about Tom Finney playing for England against a S.American teamin S. America. He ran their fullback ragged, so the opposition tripped and kicked him at every opportunity, but he got up and played on. In the end, the partisan crowd began to barrack their own team for the .way in whih they treated him (The source for his is in the archives of the Lancashire Evning Post).
He has now gone to join his beloved wife. May he rest in peace.

    Manchester United supporter in peace.

I came down to Deepdale today with my daughters, son and my old man to pay our respect. My father had met him a few times and was in absolute tears at the game. On the way down from Wilmslow, my father was constantly talking to my children about Sir Tom Finney and what a wonderful footballer and a person he was.

A truly remarkable footballer from an era where footballers really were part of the community.

Rest in Peace Sir Tom Finney

    Legend!!
