Thought it was fairly common knowledge that he supported us.

A few year ago he was talking about supporting us, I think he just wanted a club to support and he liked the name. He's supported us ever since, but I'm not sure how into football he really is, as he's loaded but as far as I know never invested any large amounts of money into the club.

He did, he was in school in Luton or somewhere and wanted a team to support. He thought Sunderland sounded exotic.

Was more than a few years ago. Was when I was a kid. It was mooted for him to buy the club when Murray got it but seemed it was grapevine stuff

Had no idea who he was, but now I have googled him. I'm wondering does he sit at home making up chants for new signings?

Could the fact that he's never put any money into the club AND being loaded be connected????

    Good point!!

Think, as fans, we all like to think, if we had £200m in the bank, we'd invest in our club because we're fans and we expect others to do the same just because they're loaded!

Think, as you say, one of the reasons he is loaded is because he hasn't invested in the club!!

A quote, attributed to former Harods and Fulham FC owner, Mohamed Al Fayed-----

If you want to end up with a small fortune, it's easy.
Start off with a large fortune, then buy a Football Club.
