For those of you who don't know Justice Popplewell was the man who precided over the tragerdy at Bradford where 56 fans lost there lives in a terrible fire in the main stand.

This arrogant prick (sorry but can't think of a more appropriate phrase) Has written an open letter to the times criticising the families of the Hillsborough victims. In the letter Justice Popplewell accuses the families of in his words "harbouring conspiracy theories" and should "move on"

In a paragraph from the letter he wrote:-

“The citizens of Bradford behaved with quiet dignity and great courage. They did not harbour conspiracy theories. They did not seek endless further inquiries,”

“They buried their dead, comforted the bereaved and succoured the injured. They organised a sensible compensation scheme and moved on. Is there, perhaps, a lesson there for the Hillsborough campaigners?”

Mr Popplewell quiet simply hasn't got a fooking clue what the families of the Hillsborough victims have had to endure for over 22 years. The lies, the cover ups, the accusations all designed for one purpose. To protect those who really are to blame for the events of that terrible day.

All I have ever seen is families fighting for the truth, families fighting for some closure, families fighting for some justice.

Is it any wonder then, that when idiots like Popplewell write absolute carbage like the letter in the times that the families arn't being allowed any of the above? They have acted with dignity and respect.

Something Popplewell clearly lacks on both levels.

I hope the owners of the times allow the open letters page in that paper to carry right of reply and this guy is suitably torn asunder.

In the end he had no reason thats obvious to pick up a pen and interfere if he did not for 22 years. 22 long years and after finally getting the documents released he feels the need to write then. Ergo he is an uncraing individual who takes offense somehow at something that had nothing at all to do with him whatsoever.

Kenny made an impressive statement on this and i feel this is yet more reason for his dignity and work to be recognised. Surely the CROWN, our head of state can make a statement here by awarding kenny for his dignity and class and showing what she thinks about it (if she thinks anything about it)

I actually think its high time that she make some sort of public statment on the issue and what better time than handing kenny an award?

MITO, i believe the owners of the times are the same one's who allowed McKenzie to print his lies in the S33. This letter is yet another example of the total disregard senior figures within both the legal and government ranks have for the man in the street.

Re Kenny, he'll never get a knighthood his actions deserved..why? Because that would as good as admiting guilty from those in power.

precisely. new international could be accused of editorial bias if they don't allow fair recourse by the hillsborough families.

in the end the queen's list is just that she can desice to make a statment. its a question of before or after the independant truth comes out.

I do think you might get more than you bargained for with the release of this information, hope I am wrong on this, but far from healing, it will just rub salt in open wounds.

The real culprits of Hillsborough are not the Police.

Those people died as a result of hooliganism.

Hooliganism that prompted the authorities to put ordinary Football Fans in cages.

Cages that proved an immovable object.

    RIP

I am deliberately not going to get angry at your comments. However, I would point out the following flaw in your logic.

Every other week in the season, the Liverpool Police managed to organise and control a crowd of equivalent size in a ground that was also caged - nobody died!

I really think that you shoould consult the record and make sure of your facts before coming onto this board and making comments on such an emotive issue.

There is nothing for you to be angry about.

I suggest your emotions are running too high to read and digest what I said.

The cages caused the deaths, the hooligans caused their presence.

Hooliganism is at the root cause.

    Please go away Schofield.

You are either an completely insensitive fool or a really nasty piece of work if you even think that a post with the opening remarks of, "I do think you might get more than you bargained for with the release of this information, hope I am wrong on this, but far from healing, it will just rub salt in open wounds." is likely to recieve a positive hearing.

If it is so important to you to air your thoughts then I would suggest that you remove them from this board and take them to General Chat.

David Schofield yet another cluless prick from the sky generation.

What I find strange, is I followed Liverpool home and away for 8 years in the early till late 80's. Stood in crowds of 60,000, 50,000 plus.In all that time i only ever saw hooliganism twice at West Ham and Tottenham, I never once saw Liverpool fans "rush" the turnstiles or force a gate to get in. This urban myth that has sprung up, is that a myth.

So Mr Schofield your talking through a hole in your backside, i'm with RHC. Because i bet any money you want, face to face you wouldn't repeat those ignorant, insulting and pathetic comments.

I'll meet any of you, buy you a beer and hopefully you can use your ears better than your eyes.

Why don't you try thinking about what I have written and engaging your brain before you reply again.

Why did'nt you study the findings of the Taylor report before making a tit out of yourself?

And what is it you think I have written that in anyway goes against the findings of the Taylor Report?

To help you, I blame the deaths on Hooliganism.

Hooliganism that had been rampant for 20 years

Hooliganism that was finally dealt with by caging ordinary football fans

Ordinary football fans that perished in those cages

It is a sensitive subject, but not discussing it is unhealthy for all concerned.

My comment about getting more than you bargained for is one of concern, you know how the press work in this country, if all the documentation is released, as is now expected, then for many people the truth will out, but so will pictures of dead bodies all over the press and web.
