Sir Niall Quinn...much loved and respected by Sunderland fans and non-fans alike. Has done a great job for the club as a player and as a Chairman.

What a lovely bloke...but is that part of the problem? Football is a business. A big business at that. Harsh decisions have to be made at times and the buck stops somewhere.

I'm very impressed that Ellis Short is willing to to take control of the situation at Sunderland. I say 'situation' because none of us really knows what is going on barr what we see on the pitch.

I hope to see some feathers being shaken at the club during the two week international break.

Thanks Sir Niall....you are a star....now make us a brand across the globe!

Indeed. What a hero! Nothing bad at all to say about him, only praise.

I think only time will tell whether Short taking a more 'hands on role' with the club will be a good or a bad thing..However, I've supported SAFC long before he was here, and I guess I will still be supporting SAFC long after he has moved on, so I will also be supporting SAFC while he is in charge..

great move from the club, Quinn is now in the perfect role, no1 can sell the club better to potential investors than Quinn, he has the charm and the charisma.

Short as chairman is also perfect, shows that he is certainly commited to SAFC.
