Tony has twittered that he's with Les today. If tony has taken Les as his guest to the game today, I wonder if he's going to try and get him on our coaching staff? Just a thought.
After that first half I'd take Sir Les back in any form...striker, coach, manager...you name it, he can have the job.
After seeing the thread about Les as Director of Football, Thought I'd bump this back up. Thought there might be something in it at the time. Doesn't mean there actually is or that it will happen, but funny it's cropped up again, that's all.
I still can't get my head around the term "Director of Football". So a team would have a manager who picks the starting 11 and then a 1st team coach. I often read about clashes between managers and these so called directors of football which often makes for an unproductive tension within the clubs they work for. Too many chiefs not enough Indians springs to mind. Have we ever had a director of football at QPR? Don't get me wrong I would love Sir Les back at ours if this would help and also being I think he is a QPR legend. In fact I would like to be a director of football, how hard can it be? Just tell the team to direct the football towards the oppositions goal and away from ours at any cost, simples...
I don't really get it either. After tonight all sorts will be printed in the press and we'll have 15 different theories, so we can chew the bones off them.
