Not sure if this has been posted yet. http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-set-to-confirm-les-ferdinands-return Seems hazy on what the role will be so anyones guess if this is a good thing or not, Dave Mac cheekily suggesting it paves the way for Sherwood.
Why, good player but what has he done to warrant a job at rangers, coach no. The best would be to say hi to punters before a game
please log in to view this image QPR are set to confirm the appointment of Loftus Road legend Les Ferdinand in the next few days.......worked there as a coach when QPR boss Harry Redknapp was manager at White Hart Lane......Ferdinand has been out of the game since leaving Spurs in June, as has coach Chris Ramsey, who could also be given a role at Rangers. ......and Uncle Tom Cobley and all - seems like the more the merrier!
Isn't he meant to head up the academy side? Redknapp was singing the praises of the West Ham youth system that produced Ferdinand, Lampard, Carrick etc and saying QPR needed something similar. Of course it would be handy if the youngsters got the occasional chance of a kick at first team level as well, but given that you can count on one hand the number of times that happened in the Championship, I won't be holding my breath on that one.
There will be more coaches and back room staff, than players soon. There ought to be a closed window period for them too. This might help Tony keep his hands in his pockets til January when he will need to find a few million for a very good striker and a RB.
