Today was Sir Henry's memorial at Ely Cathedral. Sadly I was not able to attend, but apparently it was a beautiful service with around 1,000 attendees. Several reports from the service: The Guardian Daily Mail BBC Telegraph
Thanks for posting this Princess. It's hard to think of anyone else around now who could provoke such affection from the racing public and indeed from people who had never even met him.
A bit more from the Racing Post, which will be well worth buying today. The final words of the service were Sir Henry's himself, played in an audio clip "I have been very lucky to have lived the life I have done . . . and I have loved every minute of it, every minute." If any of you are ever near Ely Cathedral, it is well worth a visit. A truly beautiful place.
