Reports from the North East suggest that Sir Bobby's memorial garden in Newcastle was vandalised yesterday with spray paint. There is speculation that Norwich "Supporters" were behind this outrage due to Sir Bobby's links with Ipswich. I have no doubt that the overwhelming majority of Norwich fans on this board and elsewhere will want to condemn this mindless act of vandalism. What strikes me more than anything is this disgusting attack happening just a day after the Fabrice Muamba tragedy. Football supporters of all clubs should be coming together to show solidarity towards a promising young footballer not showing vile hatred towards a football legend. I never fail to be surprised at the lengths some morons go to!
That is shocking behaviour, particularly at this time, we can console ourselves that as they undertook this mindless act these idiots, if they were Norwich fans, were confronted with the UEFA and FA Cup staring straight up at them. I refer specifically to those idiots as I know that there is nobody who would conceive of such an act on the other side of these boards. I would like to propose that for the remainder of this season we join our feathered friends in debating football matters as one and restrain from any baiting or trading of insults and hope that our positive thoughts are all filtering through to Fabrice.
Hampy - as I posted on our side, I entirely agree Also it's being posted on BBC website that Fabrice is showing signs of improvement! At least SOME good news!
It took two hours to get him breathing and two days for his heart to beat of its own accord so he has a battle ahead of him. I hope all the positive thoughts and prayers from tens of millions of people can make a difference and we'll all be able to smile in relief at some time soon. That is really all I want from this season now.
Every club has them, I would say that as for Ipswich and Norwich there are (in proportion) far less real morons who act like this in the name of their football club. In fact I would say both sets of fans are fairly timid in the wider landscape of football in this country. Obviously if this is an act of vandalism by a Noriwch fan I'm sure (as previously stated) the Norwich fans on here would be quick to disown them for there shere stupidity, let's hope that there is some good news in the form of Fabrice Muamba's full recovery soon as football is a pretty dark place to be around at the minute
With all the scandals on and off the pitch this season it is by far the most depressing footballing season in my living memory. Football is fast sinking into a moral cesspit!
It's fair to say this season has had it's fair share of trouble. As I said on our board you won't find a fan on here, and frankly in the general NCFC community, that doesn't think sir bobby was a legend and whoever did this, city fan or not, should get a severe kick up the arse.
JWM - all it needs is a handshake! Don't you listen to our leader of World football! Sepp Blatter is a dork of the first order!
