RIP Sir Bobby Robson - five years today. Whose loyalty and passion for Ipswich Town is completely irrelevant to Norwich City fans because of how great a man he was
Yes, a true footballing legend. Passionate and thoroughly professional and much under-estimated in what he did with England, particularly at the time.
Certainly, and this morning I see news about how much his charity foundation has made. What a proud man he must be. A legend of football and the leaver of a great legacy out of it. I also can't believe it's been 5 years! RIP Sir Bobby Robson, gone but certainly never forgotten.
Nice Post Supers and great response from your fellow canaries. He's someone our club can be truly proud about and he put us on the map aswell. I dont think any club these days would make the same ecisions our board did in SBR's early years but he certainly repaid that faith 100's of time over. A true gentleman and a great success aswell. The two dont seem to go together anymore which is why I will never truly respect the likes of Mourinho no matter what success he has. SBR - a great
What I posted on my friend Syd's Sunderland forum and his response! Speaks volumes! canary-dave wrote: Sadly, we'll never see his like again! The word legend is bandied about too easily these days, but in Sir Bobby's case it is nowhere near strong enough! RIP Sir Bobby! says it all when Sunderland and Norwich supports say it
RIP Sir Bobby and let us also spare a thought for another Ipswich and England Legend the one and only Sir Alf Ramsey. A small club in Suffolk has been blessed twice over with the the two greatest England managers. It is extraordinary when you think that Johnny Cobbold had the foresight to pick two novices that turned out to become legends of the national game. May all three great men rest in peace and be revered for all time.
