The word legend is often used too loosely, but in all my years, there has never been a finer player, for United and England.

A remarkable player, I was lucky to have seen him at the 1966 World Cup semi v Portugal, which also featured the great Eusebio!

Our own Sir Alf of course managed him in those triumphant United years. Best, Charlton, Law, what a trio!

We wont see his like again.

    Farewell Big Man.

He was towards the end of his United career when I started watching Town and I've no clear memory of seeing him play (although I do remember George Best).
Obviously his reputation is of one of England's finest and most prolific strikers but he also struck me as a gentleman, calm and unflustered.

    RIP Sir Bobby.<rose>

PS How are you doing now 'gaffer?
