This guy breathes Manchester United and is arguably the best thing to ever happen to this club. When he retires there is only one way and that is down. It will be interesting to see how our fan base reacts. People are moaning now but when he retires it will be a MASSIVE LOSS. Man Utd will not and ever be as successful when he retires. The man is a genius and that does not come by all the time. Man Utd have been so lucky to have Busby and Ferguson as managers. However, with the modern trend of 18 month managers and sackings and foreign managers in our game, I can not see another long term manager here. Therefore, we will not be as successful. I think it is time in our legends final year or years we support him and the team. Man Utd will decline when he retires. The players will be knocked and the respect for the new manager will be less. The pressure will be SO HIGH and we will become just another team and lose our mentality and strength unless replace him with some one who knows Ferguson. I have to agree with Cantona when he says Man Utd will collapse and that is exactly what will happen. There is no way in the world we can replace his qualities and his management skills. His will, determination, winning mentality can make average players seem quality. He is amazing and with billionaire wave Manchester united will decline.
I think that saying Man Utd will collapse is a bit extreme. We'll still be a massive club, a club of this side won't disappear over night!
Ferguson is the reason for our rising and our dominance. Like when Hitler fell the Nazi party fell shortly after. That is a extreme example but a similar thing will happen.
WTF?!? Hitler's fall was not the trigger for the end of the Nazi party, it was a symbol of the ongoing collapse of the Nazis. That's not an extreme example, just a very bad example! Downfall may be a decent movie, but it's not a historical documentary I can't see Utd collapsing after SAF leaves. No matter who takes over, our huge revenues, level of support and global recognition amongst players and fans will mean we will still be one of the top clubs in England and Europe. But I do think that once SAF leaves we'll be unlikely to win major trophies with the same frequency as we have over the last two decades.
