So let me get this right. Sir Alex criticises a referee and gets banned, he praises and referee and gets charged, he says nothing and we get the media and rival fans crying and moaning about it. Pathetic, he can't win.
He's questioning the integrity of the other dozen or so referees in the premiership with that comment. He has to be charged. The FA should ensure that Webb does not referee another game at Old Trafford for at least the next 5 years.
After letting Chelsea get away with everything I agree. Other managers complain and question referees all the time and escape punishment.
You still don't get it. He questioned the integrity of the other referees by saying ''Howard Webb is the best''.Some managers say things like ''that decision was disgraceful''.Most managers complain about decisions not the person that makes them.He is questioning integrity and that shouldn't be tolerated full stop. However Ferguson is the only one that says things like ''We needed a strong referee and we didn't get one'' ie Martin Atkinson. He is making out Martin Atkinson is not fit to referee games that involve Manchester United. Now thats disgraceful. If he wants to stay out of trouble,He should think before he speaks.
How does saying "Howard Webb is the best" call the integrity of other referees into question?!? So saying "Messi is the best" calls the integrity of other players into question??? And Howard Webb is the best referee in the PL - he was recognised as such by FIFA when they gave him the World Cup final. You should really think before you open your pie hole... And I supposed claiming that "the ones who shout loudest are the ones who get the more beneficial decisions" doesn't call referees' integrity or professionalism into question at all?
Howard Webb is the best, he was the ref at the World cup final, so Fifa must think he is good. Keep up the deluded **** you spout out
Ancelotti said: "I don’t want to put pressure on the referee. I think Howard Webb is a fantastic referee because he has experience. If the referee has no experience we can perhaps be a bit worried about this but with Howard Webb there is no problem". Is that not falling foul of the same FA rules yet no charges are brought against him?
Swarbs. You're changing the goal-posts to suit youself. Supposing Carlo Ancellotti said something like ''Oh no Howard Webb,we never get good decisions off him at Old Trafford,we would prefer if Martin Atkinson was refereeing the game''.He would be punished and rightly so.He would be questioning the integrity of Howard Webb before a game. I stand by my point that if Ferguson wants to keep out of trouble,he should think before he speaks.Saying stuff like ''We needed a strong referee and didn't get one'' is questioning both the professionalism and the integrity of a referee. Plus,Howard Webb made a pigs ear out of the WC final. There should have been at least 3 sendings off,2 for Holland and 1 for Spain.
SAF is bigger than the FA. And you call me deluded? There is one difference between Alex Ferguson and God.....God doesn't think he's Alex Ferguson.
Changing the goal posts? What the **** are you on about? Ferguson deserved to be banned for his comments about Atkinson, but how does saying "Howard Webb is the best" constitute any sort of attack on anyone's integrity? Especially when Ancelotti made almost exactly the same comments about Webb being "a fantastic referee", also before the game? Once again, the FA selectively apply the rules to suit themselves.
Doesn't surprise me. The F.A. like many others are desperate to bring Fergie down. If the evidence is anything to go by, they can only try!
He would've only been questioning the other refs' integrity if he'd have said "Howard Webb is the best, the rest are useless". He could've meant that Webb is a 10/10, the rest a close 9/10. Just like someone else said, saying Messi is the best in the world doesn't mean you're saying that everyone else is ****, just that they're not quite as good. Yet again KPR, you've outdone yourself.
They are doing Ferguson I would say because of persistent violation of the rules. He's a serial offender. They are getting fed up with him breaking the rules. They are clamping down because they want to show that nobody and that includes Ferguson is bigger than them.If it means making an example of him, then they will do so.And rightly so.
Wow... Most of the time Fergurson deserves the charges he gets for referee comments, but this one is just stupid.
No they're not. They are clamping down because his comments always get reported in the mainstream media. When SAF says Webb is the best, the BBC and Sky Sports put it on their websites and the FA feel the need to "do something". When Ancelotti says Webb is fantastic and much more experienced that other referees, it gets reported in the Fulham and Hammersmith Chronicle and no one gives a flying ****. Once again, Utd get shafted cos they are the biggest club with the most media attention.
How long befor they charge him for saying nothing and claim its dumb insolence bringing the game into disrepute?
