Left the match with 15 minutes to go for a lift and to be honest here I wasn't the only one. This is the second game in a row that I've left early albeit for a lift but, still left early and the paths were full of pissed off Sunderland fans all trudging their weary way home. Wasn't expecting us to beat Utd but, did expect us to actually give them a game or maybe that should read give their second string a game. The goal was about as crap a goal as you can get with Titus (new contract apparently) Bramble knocking it in. I can't think of any positives from that pile of crap today not one, no fight no pace and worryingly no clue as to how to actually score a goal. Danny Graham was about as effective as a traffic cone and, the sorry tally of 1 shot on target all game (again) shows why we are struggling at the wrong end of the table. The crowd did their bit and turned up 43+k there (didn't look that many to be fair) it's just a pity the players didn't turn up to do their bit, pathetic game and am now on the booze all ****ing day my liver thanks you SAFC you bunch of twats.
Wish I could say something to cheer u up talc , but I just don't know what to say mate apart from enjoy your beer mate
Yes but 10th is well within reach, Marty says so. Look, let's face facts, the man has been a complete abject & utter failure. Fletcher apart all his signings have as well. We were better off under Bruce ffs.
I am genuinly worried now mate, wasnt at the match today, away for the weekend with the family, watched it in the pub with various fans from different clubs, and they all think we're doomed, i was obviously trying to be positive in defeat but after the 3 oclock ko's results, i think we're ****ed, in the bottom 3 next weekend and we wont get out! I'm ****ing sick!

So worrying I reckon we're down, if we do stay up it's gonna be by the skin of our teeth. No matter what MoN has to go at the end of the season. I wanted him here but this just hasn't worked out. £30m spent and we're at real risk of going down. If that's not incompetent I don't know what is
1 of a long list of missed opportunities, bad times billy, cannot believe we are going to have to endure this ****e again
Well tbh, if we don't beat Saint's at home, I think we're totally ****ed as I can't see where another point is coming from. Or even a goal for that matter.
I am actually more positive after today than after the last 2 home matches. We were expected to get beat today but at least there was some effort. They may have taken the foot off the gas but we at least had a balanced team. Bardo did OK, Rose was OK, DG put a shift in, N'diaye although not brilliant tried hard and made a couple of good tackles, Gardner was good and Sess tries different things that didn't always come off. Connor was better in 15 mins than AJ was in 75mins. Plus the ref gave them every 50/50 decision and they played with my now hated cheating c*nt Young. Disappointed a good team like Man U fell over as often as they did.
apart from my anger about the situation this pratt has put in, what a spot on post mate, they got away with lots of niggly things as always
The performance was as you say, we deserved a point i felt, its the other teams that concern me, we could find ourselves in an un-tenible position soon. I cant remember who tried to get alfie sent off, think bardo was taken off before he was sent off, the ref gave them everything, when luck is against you, as ours clearly is after a double deflected og, you cant help thinking, here we go again
Not sure what you expected to see today like Talc? We were never going to beat Utd. Yes, we were utter gash for the first 45 mins but to be fair, we played far better in the second half, albeit without really troubling the keeper much and at least showed a bit of fight towards the end. We look down but not out......yet. Lets not forget we were playing the team that are 15 points clear and probably on for a new record points tally winning Championship this season. They could afford to leave out Rooney, Evra, Ferdinand etc today and they still strolled the game. They are a bloody good football team mate after all. In the second half, even Fergie admitted they were hanging on a bit for a 20 min spell and we didn't get thumped. Thats would have been a season killer if we had just lay down and taken a thrashing but we didn't mate. There is still spirit there imo. Positives? There are some. Wickham looked better than Graham in the 15 mins he was on and should start next week imo. McClean had his best game for some time and looked like he was up for the fight Gardner back in the centre was much better and Mig still looks out best player by a country mile (we will need him in the next 7 games like nowt else) Other results went against us but we have 5 games to save our season and its still in our hands. I'm writing off Chelsea and Spurs now. The Scum, Southampton, Villa, Everton and Stoke are games we must focus our attention on. We need 7 points from those 5 games and we will stop up. Today was a game we were always going to lose and so are the Chelsea and Spurs ones but the other 5 are games where we should target for points. We have to beat Southampton and Stoke at home and get a point elsewhere. Tough ask? Of course it is but if we don't then we deserve to go down. Its a simple fact.
Have to agree with a lot of that Cest but feel that we are the ones in real trouble and as we have no momentum will probably go down. Graham was absolute garbage as was Bardsley and Johnson IMO and we played better when the latter two went off. Johnson has to be dropped as we can't afford this overpaid excuse for a footballer any more. I remember when their keeper got injured in the clash of heads and I turned to the wee lad and said "did Graham clatter into him" before being told by an 8 year old "you must be joking, that would mean he was trying"!.
this was always going to happen cest, at the start of the new year if we could not get another six points on the board the fixture list dictated that we were going to be in trouble. if we had that desire in the first half it could have been a good point against them. but it speaks volumes that they can rest players with confidence , it makes defeat a bit more acceptable if they show a bit of fight
selling players like Malbranque, Zenden, Henderson, bent, kenwyne has cost us, the defence is utter tripe. And it does not matter who MON plays next week as it is the alamo down there, put 5 along the back to keep the score down!.
