Singing in The Shed.

One of the things about all seater stadiums, is that you dont seem to hear some of the great club songs that we got stuck into years ago. I'm just wondering if there's anyone on here that can remember the first musical masterpiece I and thousands of others got stuck into on a Saturday afternoon at SB. It went to the tune of "The Blaydon Races":-

All the lads and all the lovely ladies
Walking down the Fulham Rd to see the Chelsea Aces
Praise the Doc and all the Chelsea Team
Greatest team in all the land that we have ever seen.

You got to be a bit old in the tooth to remember that one but there were lots of other things down the years that were great to hear.

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!! A City fan! Perish the thought! A season ticket holder at the Bridge since 1967 and never missed a game from April 1959 to August 1973 (My wedding day)

I'm sure Drogs,as long as you love the club, it doesn't matter what generation you are in! There were the downside about things in the 60's, like no booze available, endless queue's trying to get a cup of tea. Still we got in for the equivalent of 4p, so you couldn't complain.The biggest thing you missed out on really was not getting to see Ossie, The King of Stamford Bridge. Could have done with him last night--would've been 6-0

Ahh of course! We are still having a brilliant time in the recent past, won the most trophies in our history and I'm glad I have grown up to that feat of our history, nonetheless I'd still love to have been there when we were in dire straits in the terraces singing my heart out! Don't see it as often as then, but we still give it a go ey! We certainly showed Old Trafford how to sing on Sunday.

Nah I didn't mate, I'll be at the next one though. Yeah I went to the famous Bolton away in 2005, one of the best games I've ever been too.

One of the great things looking back at how miserable you felt when we got relegated(and thats something I've had to suffer 4 times) is that it feels so much more fantastic when you land the prizes.Now we need someone to create a brilliant new song we can sing in the Shed and someone like Mick Greenaway to orchestrate the singing. I was born in '87 so wasn't born when we were relegated. I do however know what you're talking about as a Scotland fan! Majority of the family supporting/being born in Scotland has led me to this, but the feeling of scoring is far greater than any England fan will feel!

I notcie a lot of foreign fans around the bridge now, which I may add I have no problem with, but they don't share the same passion as someone from the area, this is probably the reason we aren't as loud as we used to be at home. I remember getting in a hospitality suite against Bolton in the Carling Cup a couple of years ago, we won 4-0 and everyone around me barely moved! both MH and the Shed were chanting the usual and it felt like wasted money

Mick was falsly accused to being the leader of the so-called Chelsea Head-hunters who caused problems often nowhere near football stadiums , but this was completely untrue! Mick was banned from the ground and sadly died soon after -only still in his 40's, in poverty.

I can always remember when my kids were tots--we rented a flat for the week in Torquay above a pub. Chelsea were on a pre season tour of the West Country. I think they played Yeovil , Exeter and finally Torquay. One night when she was putting the kids to bed, I told her I was going downstairs for a pint. The bar was virtully empty, when the door opened and in poured the "Chelsea on Tour" fan club led by Mick. The bar was heaving and Mick was standing right next to me Zigger Zaggering in my earhole. I asked him how we got on and he had to turn to another bloke and "what was the result today?"
God rest his soul! They dont make em like that any more!
