That is madness, the best player in the league last season, better than some prem league players and he's young, signed for just a million!! Why little Swansea tho:emoticon-0112-wonde were 14 times the size of them. If only we had as much ambition as them, then again if we only spent 1 mil of the 6 we made from the Delph transfer <ok>

I think he's proved how much of a journeyman he is by choosing to go move from London to Swansea. I guess they can offer him more money with their £40m windfall plus Premiership football. Anyway, I'd have Maxi over him any day of the week!

Max over Sinclair??? gota disagree tbh. Gradel can be a bit of a hot head at times and has a tendancy to mis kick the ball a lot, plus Sinclair can play and a center foward aswell as wide man, Gradel aint an out an out striker, Ive gota go with Sinclair. //// Sinclair-M.Johnson-Nunez-Gradel now thats a midfield line up, with Somma up top with McCormack

Swansea probably had the option to buy him for a mil, from the loan agreement, otherwise his agent probably would've whored him around every club in the land at that price.

Scott Sinclair: played 46, scored 22, assisted 2

Max Gradel: played 41, scored 19, assisted 5

Pretty comparable records really except Maxi chipped in with more assists and runs around like a maniac defending and trying to win the ball whereas Sinclair generally just waits for it to come to him. Gradel has the extra drive which I love in a player.

Also Sinclair took all of Swansea's penalties, so Max probably scored more from open play. And why have some people suddenly decided that Nunez is:

    1. A central midfielder?
    2. Better than Howson? (looking at you, Que)

He plays attacking midfield for Honduras and played centrally for Scunthorpe. Plays outwide and loves coming in central positions to shoot from range. he can tackle despite his height, he's stocky tbh. Scored 5 goals for his country from attacking midfield (Howson's position) Scored 3 in 8 for a relegated team and earned 3 assists, MVP in central americas championship scoring 2 goals in that ....... so yes he can play in ceter mid and yes he is better than Howson. Take away Howson's local status and he'd be playing somewhere like MK Dons

How many times can anyone bang on about the money from the Delph transfer? It's long gone. Papa Smurf has shipped it out long ago..... to Cayman Islands or something....

We also haven't secured Prem Football and if Swansea hadn't he wouldn't have signed for them, he said as much too.

Which is why he got into the U21 squad and was one of our top scorers? Anyway with your suggestion we'd be playing an attacking midfielder AND 2 strikers. We'd be set up for a worse defensive record than last season! Nunez is decent but IMO wil be used as back up for Max/Snoddy/Howson.

He scored 10 goals from midfield in the Championship. If we released him now, he'd get offers from Premiership clubs, no doubt about it.

Not saying Nunez is better or worse by the way. I've seen probably half an hour of Nunez ever, so I'll reserve judgement till I see him at ER next season.

the only thing i dont like about gradel is that he seems to make the wrong decision a lot of the time, i.e when he should shoot he passes and when he should pass he shoot.

Loiner - you're stats fail to take into account that as a team, unlike Swansea, we were attrocious at defending, letting in nearly 30 GOALS more. So that makes a point that doens't really need answering if you know your football. If you're going to score lots of goals from midfield, the rest of your fellow players in the middle of the park also have to be able to do a good job holding it solidly.

Either way, I can certainly imagine putting Sinclair and Gradel together as part of a midfield parnership - but it ain't going to happen at Leeds United, and certainly not with KB in charge.

KB is NO LONGER affluent enough to be a Premiership chairman and keep a padlock on his wallet -and whether he likes it or not, that's a FACT. With him, a club like Leeds United is going nowhere from where we are right now, short of a miracle and a shed load of luck.

I agree, but the comparison between Gradel and Sinclair is still on a level playing field, is it not? Gradel chooses to track back more - I'm sure he'd do that even if we had a midfield and defense the quality of Swansea's. It's the sort of player he is: enthusiastic, energetic and relentless.
