    we have finished...

    2007/2008 - 39points - 15th place
    2008/2009 - 36points - 16th place
    2009/2010 - 44points - 13th place
    2010/2011 - 47points - 10th place

    so far

    2011/2012 after 31games - 41points - 9th place

As you can see there bar the 2008/2009 season there is progress being made at the club.

I am totally over the moon with the fantastic work MoN has put in since he came to the club after 14th games we were 17th and 1point from the relagation zone. We were...

    15points behind newcastle
    12points behind liverpool
    7points behind stoke
and 5points behind villa, everton, norwich and qpr.

Look at us now we have certainly closed the gap on those teams and even gone above a few of them.

Now to the point of this thread, people say the season is over for us we are safe and out of the cup but they could not be more wrong there is plenty to play for. We have 7games where we have a good chance of picking up a fair few points, the next target for the club has to be reaching 47points and equaling last season's points total.

Whilst everything you have said is true.....

Could or should this be the time to give game time to some of the "for the future boys"?

Chances are Bendtner will be gone.....so is it time to try the £8million missing man, and the Korean business development plan..

Yes it definitely makes a change discussing if we can catch teams like Liverpool and Everton rather than can we keep above the Wolves', Wigan's and QPR's of the division and on too many occasions not managing it.

As you say in any season there is something to play for. We can make our own targets like the number of points we can get or passing teams above us or not being passed by teams below us.

But if we still have first dibs on Bendtner, and we can name the price (within reason) and the plyer wants to come with a wage cut, I now lots of ifs and buts, but he is on form, so why drop him. we stil may not get him, but he is the inform striker for us at the minute, so lets see what he can do.

But this is why I dont really like Loans, they play ****e, we probably wouldnt want him but the parent club would put the price down, they play great, we want them, but the parent club either dont want to sell, or theyhike the price up, or a bidding war starts with other clubs.

tbh I dont think Whickham/Ji are ready for 90 minutes and play the loan striker role, he should be bringing them on though imo, but lets just see what happens.

The way things are going down the bottom though, 41 points a few weeks ago looked more than enough by a long shot, but now it might not be, yes they need 4 wins and a draw out of 7 games to reach 41 points, so its still looking slim, but the way they are playing down there, you just never know.

I just want us to finish as high as possible, if that means playing our best players, even if they are not ours, then so be it for the next 7 games, there is always pre-season to see how Ji/Wickham can do.

    Agree on Killa.

He's not had a bad game in the shirt yet.

Credit MON for giving him a shot, but more than that, credit the lad for keeping his head up an performing when given the chance.

Re Bendtner, last 6 weeks he has been nothing short of superb, I want him kept, 100%

I want Bendtner to stay for sure, he has quality. Just because he is not running around like a headless chicken some people slate him, been class the last 6 weeks as you say. If we got him for £4 million which has been the figure touted and another good striker who is more an out and out goal scorer we will be in business.
