Things have only gone down hill I'm afraid.

Now before I get hounded, I did want him out because at the time things were grim and it looked like he had lost his head.

But since then, our league position has only got worse along with some inadequate playing staff being steadily added.

    Our managers since Bruce:

MON.. Delivered some of the worst football to the SOL, playing staff wasn't much better. Major signings being an indifferent Johnson, and a much injured fletcher. Not to mention Danny graham.

Di canio: the only revolution he created was a formular to be relegated. Too many signings, too many crazy actions. Major signings, giacc, has made zero difference to season, and altidore, I don't need to say anymore about him.

Poyet: came at a difficult time and nearly delivered a major trophy. But if he takes us down, he will have failed in his objective. Major signings albeit low budget ones: Bridcutt, wrong time to bed him in to premier league, looks out of his depth at the moment. Scocco, same as Bridcutt, but also low on fitness.

My point is since Bruce, various managements have assembled a pretty dire team. And we've slowly got to the point where relegation is virtually inevetable.

Looking back I believe he's the best manager we've had at the club since Reid's years, and we were wrong to dismiss him without a better replacement lined up.

The days of a world class Gyan and the goal machine Bent are so far behind us now, and Bruce brought them here.

So criticise him all we like. But this year hull will stay up and we will probably go down. Hull have the better team and we have a team that is full of failure.

Before people say we still have Bruce's bad signings that still play, yes we do, but 3 managers have bad the chance to remove them, and none have.

Sorry to say it lads. Bruce has had the last laugh.

    KTF.

    Spot on.

Sacking Bruce was the right call but our luck ever since has been awful. We all thought MON, Johnson and Fletch were nailed on for success but it really hasn't happened.

Regular criticism of Bruce was losing the derbies and doing **** in the cups. That's starting to feel like a classic case of 'careful what you wish for'...

Bruce bought these "world class players" but he also sold them as well, as good a squad he built, he then royally ****ed it up.

Mine think you have massively missed the point here. The reason our signing have got worse since Bruce was that he spent all the money on big signings and he gave massive long term contracts out to poor players, we signed Larsson from relegation same with Gardner. We gave massive long term contracts to O'shea and brown despite them being in their thirties. He sold our strikers without replacing them. He left the club with no full backs. We have never recovered from what Bruce did to us. That is the truth.

As time goes on people tend to forget the bad things and remember the good.

He was **** for us, had a bottom half manager mentality & given he had the most time and resources of the managers listed that greatly affected our squad quality

    Bruce also sold them(not his fault) and replaced them with Ji and Wickham(his fault). Don't forget it's still the Bruce signings that are the main problem at this club. I'm talking about;

John O'shea, Craig Gardner and Seb Larsson who if are on or around the 35k a week mark each cost us around 5.5m in player wages PA. Add bumper pay contracts for Bardo and Catts at 35k a week each, that's 9 million a year on just those 5 players<yikes>. His Curse has crippled us.

5 wins in 10 months after having the biggest transfer turnover of any manager in our history, He well and truly built his own team and it was ****.

In conclusion, imo, Since Bruce left, we're still cleaning up after him. There's other manager at fault yes, but this is a Bruce thread so I'll not go into it.

Teams have put bids in for them and we've rejected, the last case of being Larson in january.

How can people say that managers are cleaning up Bruce's ****e when over £40 million has been spent since, it's laughable to suggest that.

Also Bruce didnt cripple us financially. He sold bent 24mill, Hendo 18mill, Gyan 12mill. That's over 50 million recouped. Not to mention we got 8 million for mig who was brucies signing.

How supporters can blame Bruce for finances are clutching at non existent straws.

Did Bruce agree the contracts with these players. I thought all of that was left to the money men. I would have thought your chairman should shoulder most of the blame for agreeing to the stupid contracts/signings.

This is were football is f****d IMO. Very mediocre players earning £30k or more a week FFS.
The game I was brought up to watch does not have the passion it had years ago.
There is too much footy on the telly for a start and SKY have killed the game.

How can you say there is too much footy on the tele? Would you rather more soaps?

We get to see the best footballers on our tv, and you say sky have killed it?

Footballers are paid so much because they are celebrities now, like movie stars. They provide the world with entertainment, and the best get paid so much because they are the cream of an extremely sort after crop.

we seem to have been massively mismanaged on the contracts thing for years. keane handed out big contracts to a load of **** players and we ended up being stuck with them as nobody out there was daft enough to take them off us. bruce seems to have done a similar thing with some of the contracts handed out under his term. the chairman should have had a much tighter grip on this as it crippled us for years. this is probably a major factor in why short no longer splashes the cash like he used to. to give him his dues bruce had the best transfer record with us untill he started selling off major assets and replacing them with ****

Bruce to Sunderland is basically what Hitler was to Germany . He whipped the country into shape turned the economy round, he then lit the fuse that burnt it down to the ground.

Bruce started us on the spiral and no one has managed to put out the flames.

    Reasons
A lot of people would rather watch at home than going to a game. This is due to 1 month SKY subscription being cheaper than going to 1 game. I get SKY for £14.25 a month the full package.
A lot of footballers are mediocre and get crazy wages due to SKY money. The same players don't give a f**k about the clubs they play for as long as they get their crazy wages.
