However Jol equally seems to be handing down the gauntlet with a clear message to him about competing for the top spot. Pure speculation, but there may be attitude and fitness issues ??
Have to say that wasn't hugely impressed with Stockdale last year. He needs to command his area more and be more assertive on corner kicks and long balls in the area.
If we are going to get a keeper I'd throw the name of Raphael Schafer of FC Nuremberg At 33 he is experienced and I have watched him and think he is a good as Van Der Sar was.
