Thought Torres's dive to win the free kick from Chester for second goal was clear simulation and deserved a yellow card. Referee bought it and Torres ran past Chester laughing. We'll have to learn to have the same cynical attitude to winning free kicks.

Cheating bastard, Sky eulogised Lampards free kick but didn't mention it wasn't one.

Why is anyone surprised ? Torres has done that all the time. Chester will learn fast that you dont leave a leg out. But the FA should sanction players who cheat. I blame the ref for missing the obvious.

Yes they did. Alan Smith said in commentary that some Chelsea players were "making challenges look like fouls" and that Torres has gone over with no contact. Glenn Hoddle said afterwards that he'd gone over with no contact and Martin Tyler called it a "contentious free kick".

Torres did actually go over and say sorry to Chester a few minutes later. There wasn't any contact, but the ref obviously didn't have a good view. It's moot anyway because I think McGregor over complicated the save and could've done better. No goalkeeper worth his salt should be being beaten from 30 odd yards, especially with a wall in front of him.

There wasn't really a wall. Ivanovic single-handedly pushed them all out of the way.

We can complain all we like about that part but our players should have stood strong.

How is it moot? If Torres didnt cheat McGregor wouldnt have had to save the free kick...

I think in fairness to Torres he thought the leg was going to take him so he kind of jumped up and over Chesters leg, realising what he had done he got up and starting running to get to the ball knowing there was no contact, he then turned to Chester and said "you never touched me".

Aye it's not moot as it shouldn't have been a freekick, obviously we'd not be demonstrating about it if there was no resulting goal however the point remains the same

We all knew players like him dive though, chester will learn

I meant the whole thing about the goal. Obviously the free kick isn't moot. He still should've done better though.

Chester should have given Torres (and the ref) a mouth full with a accompanying diving hand gestures and made sure the ref saw it! That, our poor pen appeal and the push in the wall by Ivanovic show how naive we are. We need Deano back in as a specialty trainer to tell the boys all the tricks of the trade.

Agreed, we need to put much more pressure on refs when they make the wrong call instead of just accepting it. What we do is very sporting and I would love it if everybody else did that but to win games we need to be ruthless.

Seemed to me like Chester didn't want to upset Torres after he told Chester that he didn't touch him, so just laughed it off. Probably due to showing him too much respect.

They should be able to apply retrospective punishment for blatant cheating like this, that will soon nip it in the bud. They were all at it, throwing themselves on the floor. As if they haven't got enough talent on the pitch to win the game fairly.

So although we know that Chester didn't touch the dirty cheating bastard,it's him who needs to learn,it was Chezz's fault ?

Exactly, people go on about the sportsmanship in Rugby, but I think I've seen more 'back chat' to the ref in Hull FC and Hull KR games on TV, than I have from our players in football.

Hazard was the worst of the lot - the slow-mo Sky replay of when he "won" a freekick against Elmo in the corner. Elmo's leg was still, not even moving - Hazard dived before he got to Elmo's leg, then in mid-air moved his leg outwards to kick Elmo's leg to make it look like he'd be fouled. Pathetic.
