Danny Simpson has left City after his contract was ended by mutual agreement.

Simpson joined the Robins 12 months ago having won promotion from the Championship on three occasions with Sunderland, Newcastle United and QPR as well as a Premier League winners’ medal with Leicester City.

Injury restricted him to four appearances in the 2020/21 season and he has made a further four this season.

The club wishes Danny well for the future as he explores options away from BS3.

A bizarre signing on those (alleged) wages - at a time when poor old Nige had no money because it had apparently been pissed up against the wall by LJ and MA.......... I would have expected a shrewder, smarter approach from an experienced manager with a limited budget..........

Anyway, as Wiz says; he's off the wages bill - good news.

Good i was told first hand about his attitude good riddance i say.Shocking what i was told from a players Dad.

I've noticed (particularly in OTIB) that many people question the £15k pw figure as being from unreliable 'dodgy' websites when defending NP's signing of him.
The same people quote the same 'dodgy' websites when attacking LJ/Ashton for signing the expensive Wells and Palmer - but the figures would appear to be accurate all of a sudden!! <laugh><laugh>.

Should never have been signed, not hindsight either as I said the same at the time. I’m still behind NP, but he has to improve, some of his decisions have been bizarre to say the least. He has the summer and the first ten games to prove he’s the right man for the job. I get things are difficult, but as he keeps reminding us, they are what they are. I don’t expect us to get top 6, but I do expect us to be challenging for it.

That we play a young forward rather than an old pro RB we have on the books, says it all really about just how bad the RB must be, good riddance, we should never had brought him here in the first place.

That bit I agree on. Complete waste of money. Last time we bought a Premiership full back was ****e as well.

I know for a fact 1 is definetly wrong and at least 2 others way off the mark published .. as for the rest who knows? Simpson may well have been higher or lower and no not revealing source or other info ........
