I think it's a shame, but it's interesting how there's been a sudden change in transfer activity. It seems that for too many seasons now QPR has been a buying and having-to-offload club. But in the blink of an eye there's enquiries for Remy, 'Granola', Simpson, Taarabt and Traore...but not from clubs in lower leagues. We now have players our rivals want, or are courted by big clubs on the continent. I think this says the club is heading in the right direction.
Harry complained about lack of cover at RB last season. Seems very odd that we'd let Simpson go. Hope a new RB is one of the irons in the fire .
I can only think of Ned, or Caulker possibly. This and the rumour Traore is also going both seem really strange to me, especially if we are going to play a back 4 like Wenesday and today. I hear Isla looked good today but isn't at his best as a RB - will see when I watch the game later tonight. Possibly Arry has some backs lined up?
It is a shame cause Simpson seemed to really enjoy it with us, but players move on. I'm sure whoever we buy to replace him will be an improvement as most of the players we're buying seem to be. But let's have faith, after todays game you can see that with a bit more confidence the team will easily be safe this year.
I'm not basing this on any knowledge, but isn't it a bit odd that Traore played today if he was about to sign for Palace?
Not too happy he's gone to a club we are fighting for survival, as he can defend quite well. Otherwise it leaves us short in the FB area. Strange one. Which is normal for us now isn't it.
Good luck to the lad and thanks for the contribution towards promotion last season. Surprising piece of business, but it makes sense from a financial point of view. I trust the management to know what they're doing.
Having seen the intensity of play today, this departure makes slightly more sense. However, if Man U told Wellbeck he could not join a peer rival club, why couldn't we do the same?
