The figures that have been shown regards city profit and loss are very concerning. Now if the drop to league 1 does happen, which looks a dead cert on current stats then this club will well and TRUELY be in the brown stuff. The financial implications don't bear thinking about. The ground over at Ashton Vale would be a big white elephant and not required in league 1 It seems we as fans are going to have to accept the current management set up come what may. I think we might as well accept the circumstanes, what ever happens over the next 5 months we have to accept we are stuck with what we have and the clubs destiny is in the current managements hands. I really have major concerns regards the way our club is operating under the current regime, hang on tight it could be a devastating and unthinkable drop come may 2013.
Well it's going to happen sooner or later. we WILL go down and surely we have to just scrap the stadium?
So we will have to become a Crewe then.......Academy for survival. As I said a year ago, taking on Del was one massive gamble...............which has not paid off..............Duh! Just thinking back to the good old days, Thank you GJ........I remember saying when everyone moaned and DEMANDED entertaining football & to get shot of him "be careful what you wish for"
He installed the discipline and leadership long enough to get this club out of league One for which I thank him immensely HOWEVER, he also laid the foundations of where we are now today which was then compounded by his successor. The problem...? nothing down the left and a lack of a midfield capable of taking the game to the opposition and supply our forward line. Been like this for years now.... It looked for a bit like Greg gave us a big boost towards fixing some of this but clearly Peterborough thought this too and crocked him and Skuseeeeee at the same time and we haven't been the same since
What GJ gave IMO were the foundations to progress, the lift the club needed, the crowd & season ticket sales at a high.......we should have progressed from there. But again IMO poor decision making by the board has pulled us back to square one or possibly worse. Oh, GJ also gave us a premiership playoff final, something we are unlikely to see again for many years!
We have spent more money since GJ left,we are in a much worse position since GJ left. What GJ gave us is a million miles from where we are.

Speaking at the club’s annual Supporters Meeting at Ashton Gate, the City boss confirmed the midfielder will continue his stay into the New Year. Danns’ one-month stay was due to expire following Saturday’s trip to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday (3pm). “A deal has been agreed in principle for Neil stay with us,” McInnes announced to fans. “We’ve enjoyed working with him and were always keen to continue doing so, and he has intimidated to us that he wanted to be part of extending his loan. “He will now stay with us after the Sheffield Wednesday game and through the Christmas period. “The exact length of the deal is not set in stone just yet, because obviously we have an FA Cup game and then we play Leicester in January, so his eligibility for those games remains unclear.” Recruitment and Financial Fair Play were key talking points on the night, with McInnes also revealing the reasons behind not acquiring Andre Bikey and Kalifa Cisse on long-term contracts last summer. He added: "I told Bikey I wanted him, but he was in cuckoo land with what he wanted in terms of wages. He then came back and asked to train with us, which I agreed. "But having spent three months over the summer doing nothing, he wasn't in right physical shape. "I also liked Cisse but, like Bikey, his demands were too high. He was a top earner before but we won't pay those figures now." Bloody good news,it will do us all good, including good ol' Delboy...
Got to say wages should be related to performance and stop the milky milky of football clubs across the world. The sooner this is done the better.
The essence and spirit of English (and to a large extent world) football has been ruined by money over the past 20 years. Period. For nearly all of the issues with the modern game revolve around money/wages
Impressed with this, what is so concerning is the quality of players that Del has brought to the club, the bad thing is he does not have a clue how to get the best from them. I was talking to a director of one of Bristols large media organisations yesterday, who went to the wolves game, does not get down to often, his words those players are not playing for that manager.
"I was talking to a director of one of Bristols large media organisations yesterday, who went to the wolves game, does not get down to often, his words those players are not playing for that manager" Well thats convinced me 'director of one of Bristols large media organisations' that would automatically make him a football expert. Cant believe I've been so blind.
Clears up the Cisse and Bikey debate then, and probably explains why we couldnt get Gerrard and whatsisface from Swansea on board. Its not through lack of trying, its through lack of wages available...
