In my usual SBR lower seat today for the Blackburn game and I have to say that I have never witnessed such a poor performance at Portman Road.

Didn't play well together, left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing, consistently poor and a total lack of rhythm.

It is not something that I want to experience at Portman Road ever again.

    No, not the team..........

Whoever hired those bloody drummers should be shot at dawn !!!! Did my head in !!!!!

I agree about drummers. I hate having any kind of band/drums at matches. Does my head in too. The commentators on radio suffolk made the game to sound better than it was, according to you.

Sorry, I read it too quickly.
Drummers do suck big fat donkey dick though. The worst bit about watching England matches is the ****in' band, and the performances don't help my mood either.
If I ever found myself next to a band I would ask for a different seat or my money back, I'm not paying to go to a concert.

Did not know they were going to play during the match, shows you how bad they were, thought the banging were claps of thunder. Own up if you voted for my way as the entrance music, not suitable for a football occasion, poor choice.

I know it was Sir Bobby's favourite but I agree with you, I voted for something much more aggresive, I want teams to be impressed or daunted as they enter PR, not welcomed by Sinatra. Even if the whole stadium was singing it would hardly be intimidating.

We have drummers? And somebody HIRED them??? What’s going on?

You mean they’re on the pitch or they’re a bunch like the Sheffield Wednesday band that follow England about the place? Or rogue jokers like in Brazil, Turkey etc that bang a drum to the rhythm of the game?

I don’t know what to make of that lot that follow England with their Dambusters and Squadron 633 stuff – when I was living in Budapest England played a friendly (under Keegan’s reign) at the Nepstadium and the Hungarians (of whom I was sitting amongst) seemed to find them all very jolly and entertaining. I suppose it depends on the context.

jonah from i can tell they are about 5 people in the lower cobbold banging a few drums from time to time. I've read that the club has made a big effort to improve the atmosphere at Portman Road so it seems that these guys are the answer

Putting in decent performances and results, having exciting players, being at the top end of the table, that will improve atmosphere, not a few neanderthals with drums.

Drums never improve the atmosphere, they just get on everyone's nerves, they already put me off going to Pompey and Leicester.

Along with cheerleaders, fancy dress and doing the Poznan.

It's part of ****ification of football.

For me, the ****ification of football all started with the tackle from behind.

I think the drums would have been fine, maybe even helped the atmosphere if they occasionally did a beat to get some chants going... but constantly during the entire game?? A bad decision

Thought that the drummers behind the SBR before the match were ****ing awesome, banging out some serious tribal beats...those lot in the Cobbold could have done with shutting the **** up at half time tho'
