It might seem obvious, but do you actually want Rovers to be relegated? Typically I would say I was happy for Rovers to do well for the sake of the City of Bristol, but rewind a few months when City were in the relegation zone, I for one was being given my share of stick from my Rovers supporting acquaintances, so now it's hard not to think 'f**k 'em.
Nick, I don't give a **** about Wycombe or Northampton but I find it hard to see the "gas" go out of the league, I am a old honest RED t**t, I'm 100% but I can't answer your question, I love them being relegated but this one is a step to far, I've got a lot of "gashead" Bristolian mates and I respect them more than I can explain.
They show their true colours when we are in trouble, I had all the texts coming through in 2008 after wembley and after our relegation last year, believe me they hate us more than you can possibly know.! If you think they would have any sympathy for us if roles were reversed you are very much mistaken.! Dont be fooled by the odd one on here, look at the bigger picture..
They have a few genuine guys, CJS, Chris Gashead and Bluebaldee to name a few, that for them, I think ,and hope they survive. The big game will be at Wycombe. Win, and I think they will be safe. For a lot of others, many of those who I went to school with 40 years ago and several others, who delighted in our relegation last year, well, revenge is a dish best served cold and I hope you are enjoying it!
If im completely 100% honest...... I don't actually care. I like winding them up and love it when they lose but if they stayed up it wouldn't bother me..... but if they went down I would be pissing myself with laughter So to answer your question, do I want rovers to go down? Yes, because it would be hilarious and the gap would be back to 2 leagues
In situations like this the smaller club always hates the bigger club more - it's like an inferiority complex
I want the Bellends to sweat until the last minute of last game, and maybe score a Jimmy Glass goal. But if they are down or stay up I just like the banter.
For the genuine Rovers fans who care about and support their club through thick & thin, my answer is a definate "NO" for the utter idiots who jumped for joy at our relegation & near relegation this season, then my answer would be "YES"...can you imagine away games at, Eastleigh & North Ferriby United!!! I firmly believe that they will survive, with a draw at Wycombe & a win over Mansfield Town.
Should'nt gloat, but the prospect of Bristol Rovers playing against North Ferriby United next season, does bring a smile to my face
As if they'd want us to stay up... **** 'em, I want them to drop and carry on dropping, bunch of stinking ****s (did I say that out loud?).
Mmmmm it's a difficult one for me, but on balance I think probably no! When you went down last season, I had a little smile but then with your financial backing you were never going to fail for long. If the positions were reversed I wouldn't want City to go out of the league - mainly for the reasons expressed by Wiz, I've got many lifelong friends who support City. For me relegation for rivals is amusing, but I draw the line at going out of the league or going bust.
Amusing, yes, but I wouldn't wish it on you. personally, I think you will be ok, Torquay have gone and the Wycombe game is in your own hands.
