Published on Friday 12 August 2011 11:35 STRIKER Ji Dong-won is desperate to play his part when Sunderland visit Liverpool tomorrow. The Korean summer signing (pictured) accepts that the trip to Anfield is one of the toughest possible starts to the campaign, but he is in high spirits after enjoying pre-season with the Black Cats. âThere are lots of good players here and the competition is fierce. Iâm not sure if Iâll be involved in the squad for the opening day,â Ji told safc.tv. âIâve done my best so far and hopefully Iâll get my chance. âIâm not too sure about how Liverpool will play as a team but Iâm aware of their great players. They are a strong club and Iâm sure theyâll be a big test. âLiverpool had a difficult time last season, but Iâm expecting them to be much better this year. âIn the Liverpool game, the most important thing is to stop them scoring first and at set-pieces they will be strong, so we will have to be very careful at those times if we are to be successful. âThe first game will be really important so if we can get a win we will be confident and Iâm sure that will help us get points and get our season started well. âLiverpool are a very strong team and we will need to be ready for them, but Iâm very excited about the game.â So the question....... Who get the nod first, Ji or Wickham?
Both on the bench and depending on how the game is going come on with 20 mins to go. If only one comes on then it will be Ji
