I would point out here I have voted for the crest on shirts, I like it. but would happily use a format of the other badge on other items (training wear etc?)

Might be a good way to sell both Home and away shirts...

I do not like that robin much and would favour another style used on pin badges, stickers, scarves, flags like the pride of the West late seventies early eighties. The crest is part of something different and a fuller era more Atyeo and modern football than noisy Eastend/parkend/Williams enclosure.

The robin is old and outdated now. Why go back? Our badge at the moment looks so much better, Plus isn't it our city's crest as well.

why is it better? The Gas have used it. City are a club of the West. The ground is almost in Somerset and parts of south bristol were. Atyeo was from wiltshire. Pubs are called the robins. Cafes and pubs sport the robin on their walls but no crests!!! Money for the club to be made by using the club's history and identity more. Stupidity not too.

The Robin is as Bristol City as the quarters are Gas.

I must admit I've got a Robin hanging from my interior car mirror, it's from a set of 6 bought for Christmas decoration, same size as a real bird, wife attached it to some elastic and I was away, reason for all of this waffle, I could not buy a Robin anywhere, City shop, on-line or car air fresheners and the set only cost me £2-50 and it looks great...

It's just my opinion. I think it looks better as it looks fresh and new. It's more colourful and bright and compared to the robins badge it doesn't look like a 4 year old had drawn it. If a better design could be made then maybe but for now I would rather we keep the crest.

Big John has been my lifelong hero and this photo of him (No 1) gives me so much pleasure every time I see it, he's got a crest on his shirt and that is what I'll vote for but as others I love the Robin..

The name on the front of the shirt. Is more important than the one on the back.

My opinion is the total opposite backed up by selling gear on match day. Stick a crest on something and you rule out a section of support buying it. Money to be made for BCFC with the robin. I would also revisit much of the phrases that were used alongside it like pride of the West for promotional campaigns. Next season there will be surfer featuring the robin. The crest simply is being ignored by many. Time for City to wake up and smell that cider as it were.

Not when you are selling shirts Shiny players like Best, Pele, Messi, Ronaldo are all greater than Whichever team they played for. Best Man Utd Fulham, Pele Brasil, Santos, NY Cosmos, Messi Argentina Barcelona, Ronaldo CR7 Man Utd Real Madrid whereever FC. Some fans follow teams some people follow players.

As city do not have shiny players the way it markets itself is all the more important. Manchester utd have worn all sorts as kits but have a market of tens of millions. City's market is hardly vast so why keep cutting it down further. Money to be made with the robin.

Not from Bristol and see City as a west country team in the City of Bristol rather than the club of Bristol. Buy my son a shirt ( not this season's) , but that is about it with the crest. He does have lots of items featuring Ernie, which he loves. The crest in comparison is lacking a bit.

I would agree with that, and it also creates a quirky selling point. A selling point created by fans is even better.
