New defender on the way for just a one month loan !

Simon King, Gillingham high flying defender, until receiving a bad ankle injury which kept him out for one and a half seasons is paying us a flying visit.

He returned to playing near the end of last season, and reports are he had a good pre-season training period.

At 28yrs of age he will bring some experience to the defence, who knows if Plymouth come out of administration during his time here he might stay longer, possibly until the new year.

Your going need to make sure you look after him, if he can get his mobility back he will serve you well.

However, as for keeping him longer, that will depend on a great number of things...
Can he reclaim his place back in the Gills side, although that would mean displacing Lawrence or Frampton.
Although Lawrence does pick up a high number of yellow cards, we still have Richards, although he might go out on loan as well. Now if that happened and Lawrence or Frampton pick up a knock near to the end of King's loan spell, then we could be saying we want him back. I hope he does well for you, he certainly has the experience to turn things around for you. If you had asked us for him 3 seasons ago, we would have laughed at you.

You haven´t got a 30 goal striker sat on the bench needing a game??
Some experience at the back will be good still have the little problem of scoring. Good result last night but another 25yd screamer by all accounts which we cannot rely on all season, wonder if Tommy T is up for a run out.

We have also just completed the loan (1mth) deal for Jamie Griffiths, Midfielder from Ipswich.

No news on a striker heading our way disappointingly...

Maybe Arthur Scargill would fancy a game........you don't get better strikers than that.

PS........this is blinking hard work tonight.....such a time lapse before any page comes up...........over and out.

Sorry...........no one should have to put up with two Arthur Scargills...........but you did ask for two experienced strikers.
