Not long left now before the excuses start to filter out of the boardroom via Mr Pardew

    "tried all summer long" etc

who could we realistically be looking at now, and are they suitable?

Bendtner - would be far better than anything we have, good in the air, which would suit our style of play

Maiga - Not the best option IMO

Zammora - unlikely, 28 year old, and not that much better than what we have

I think we have tried but perhaps just going to fall short.

we tried for gameiro, gervinho and erdnic. who else is there that is going to better our strike force? maiga would probably stuggle to get in infront of ba and erdnic so would roux. a strike for of ba and best is pretty decent we just need some pace upfront i think. there isnt many players out there who would fit the bill, jermain defoe maybe? dont get me wrong i wouldnt mind having maiga, roux, cisse or bangura etc but these are all young prospects, neither would cement a place this year anyway.

we need an established, pacey finisher or take a gamble on a young prospect and hope hes a hit. its a difficult market i dont see who we could of got.

maybe we should hope ranger sorts his act out as he arguably is potentially as good as or better than any of the targets we have been in for.
