I'll start the thread off by asking you all who you would like to see come in? Personally, I think we need a left back and thats the only change to the starting 11. But, I would look to bring in about 4/5 squad players who would really look to give the first team a run for their money. Think we've lacked squad depth this season, something that hasn't really affected us before. So, I would look to get two new centre halves and offloading either ****bread or St Ledger. Maybe a new loan for Michael Keane? What about a return for Richard Stearman? I would also like to bring in more strength down the wings. Albert Adomah would be one and Bacary Sako is the second (although the latter might be difficult to get). An experienced central midfielder. Someone like Karl Henry (I know he's a ****, but he's what we need). Other names could be Jem Karacan and Mikele Leigertwood from Reading. and finally, a striker. Aside from Nugent and Wood, we havn't had a backup striker all season. Those two are very much confidence/form players and I think we will definitely need to bring a striker in to help them. Someone like Leigh Griffiths would be a superb signing with Gayle, the Posh lad. Would leave us with something like this; Schmeichel/Logan De Laet/Moore Morgan/SSL Stearman/Keane NEW LEFTBACK/Schlupp Knockaert/Adomah King/Henry James/Drinkwater Sako/Dyer Wood/Griffiths Nugent/Gayle Out; Vardy, Beckford, Danns, Gallagher, Wellens, Koncheskey.
@John__Percy: Gus Poyet suspended by Brighton. Informed by email to stay away from the club. Full story to follow on Telegraph online. #bhafc Silly season indeed And before people want him in charge here just look at history Nigel Pearson reaches play offs- leaves- Foreign manager comes in who plays decent football- Ended in a car crash Do you really want to repeat that and put us behind 3 years again?
Suspended and told to stay away - isn't that gardening leave? Doesn't that happen when a manager speaks to another club without permission? Someone is after him - a Prem club? Everton maybe?
Wolves are lining up a move for Chris Powell He would be mad to go there Silly season well and truly has started
Ive wanted Peter Whittingham for the last 3 summers, that ship has now sailed ... We need to bring in players to challenge for positions at CB, LB, Left/Right Wing & Striker RB and CM are good enough imo, you could ask for more experience in the middle of he park, but James DD and King will only improve next season. I say right wing, because like others, id pref Knocky to have a free role, De Laet has done exceptionally well on the right without much in the way of backup defensively.
Nigel tried to sign him for 1M in January but for whatever reason it didnt come off. He is now out of contract and Nigel is going to try again. Only obstacles now are other clubs
He (NP) needs to do sumut with our DEF. We need about 6 new players up for the challenge for next season & a CB & a LB are 2 of them (imo)
We could do with another CM signing, certainly. I think King will probably leave, but even if he doesn't I think we could do with some cover, especially if we start playing 3 in midfield, which we should at some point. It'd be nice if Danns' career isn't over here, but I think it is.
I've posted on many threads how much I'd have wanted Baptiste - if we really only bid £1m last January when we had forked out that sum on Vardy, we have nobody but ourselves to blame - he is a real class act and if we had signed him I don't think we'd have had that disastrous run (or at least we would have come out of it a lot sooner)...
Here on some players who's contracts run out in the summer Danny Simpson Chris Brunt Dean Whitehead Ryan Shotton Chris Baird Alex Pearce Matthew Kilgallon Simeon Jackson Steven Reid Noel Hunt Clint Hill Ian Harte Simon Davies Out of them I wouldnt mind Chris Brunt, Simeon Jackson, Alex Pearce or Steven Reid here next season
Some more players contracts who expire in the summer Alex Baptiste Sylvan Ebanks-Blake Kevin Doyle Christophe Berra Nicky Bailey Chris Cohen Lewis Dunk Ian Evatt Lewis McGugan Paddy McCarthy Neal Eardley Gary Taylor-Fletcher Luke Steele Kevin Davies Out of them I wouldnt mind Neal Eardley, Alex Baptiste or SEB
Chris Brunt is a player I've admired for a long time, and have thought for ages he'd be a good fit here. I'd bite my hand off to sign him! I'd take the two Forest players as well. Is Luke Steele the Barnsley one?
Hull and Swansea want Kasper http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/kasper-schmeichel-hull-swansea-fight-1899839 Swansea wont be interested unless Vorm leaves. I cant see Kasper being interested in Hull
