Desperation or a good buy? http://www1.skysports.com/football/...m-agree-16311m-ross-mccormack-deal-with-leeds
Bit of both I think. Although Rossco is a very prolific striker and will almost guarantee you double figures each season, 11m is extravagant for a championship striker who's not proven in the premier league.
http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2014/july/08/whites-seal-mccormack-deal you will get more from the sell on that you did from us..
Huge (possibly ridiculous) fee for a Championship striker. Should do a good job for them though and shows the difference between PL and Championship finances that parachute payments allow this kind of money to be spent on a 27 year old striker who's never played at PL level.
However he's still in the Championship where he has a good record. If his goals get them back up then it will be money well spent. Been away a few days, what's all this link removed nonsense.
...............and we've got a paltry less than £5M strike force with Guerra, Le Fondre, Macheda, Campbell, Mason, Maynard and Healy - which would you rather have? (and I've deliberately not mentioned Kenwyne )
The world of football has definitely gone mad. If this is the value of Ross then Caulker is worth £16m, Medel £14m, Marshall £20m and Mutch £14m. We could wipe our debt out this summer.
Spending £22m on a strike force and having a strike force worth £22m are 2 very different things though.
And we got more from you than we paid for him. Mad money. Better deals to be had, but I won't complain of the deal goes through.
its probably only half up front and the rest if fulham win the champions league and pigs fly. but still, its a huge amount of money and well over the odds if the fee reported is accurate. he's not that much better than le fonder who cost £1.5m……..
Exactly the same age and could turn out to be better if you look at his goals/games average. Macheda on a free with 10 goals from 18 last year for Brum, and still only 22 is another prospective masterstroke.
Where the two teams finish at the end of the season will be the acid test, but it shows how easy it is to spend large sums of money (and we should know) but also that a good strike force can be assembled quite cheaply. We just need to shed a lot of players now.
