Now then.. We come from all diversities of life, age, our era and our culture.. But if you could pick one song from your life that gets the memory cords going, a song that you love, a song that says it all.. My song is Wishbone Ash in their hey-day and mine too.. It has a memory simply because me and my girlfriend were listening to this when she conceived.. I was 16, her 17, we spent 24 years together..I was at the concert in 73 btw at the City Hall in Newcastle.. still only look 40 mind haha.. Songs are the gateway like.. hoya ye **** up and reasons why.... Great weekend all..
Mr Jones by Counting Crows. The original album version reminds me of a time when I was really happy. The acoustic version is just a cracking track. The lyrics changed slightly as the songwriter realised that the fame he used to crave (and got largely as a result of the unexpected success of the song) didn't quite live up to expectation.
Children by Robert Miles - I was a kid when I first heard this song and stressed because I was going through the pointless drama that seemed important at the time and this song really calmed me down. Still does today - apparently Robert Miles wrote it to play at the end of his concerts because the ravers would be too amped up and get into accidents. RIP
Great tune...I used to turn off the tv volume and play this whilst playing some kinda F1 game on the Nintendo...thems were the days that were...I didn't have a car so was the next best thing to fulfill the urge to go on a long drive...you need to be approaching top speed by the time it kicks or you miss the buzz Helps if you've had a spliff too
This tune sends me back to being a little rascal running in n out of the kitchen with Momma busy cookin whilst this playing in the background on Vinyl...she loved the Boney M
**** man, forgot all about Wishbone Ash. The 70s rocked (I think the dope was better. Pure Afghani black fresh off the boats, none of this super hybrid ****ed up skunk that incapacitates you up for days)
First time I saw a strobe light, this was playing. Some sort of disco at Winchester Art College if I remember rightly. They don't use strobe lights on dance floors anymore, as they can induce epileptic fits apparently.
Terry Ollis on drums^^^^^^ Actually one of the best rock and roll drummers from that era. The incomparable Lemmy Kilmeister on bass and vocal.
Everytime I hear this I am 10 years old again listening with wonder through my older brother's bedroom wall. Bowie's backing vocals " bong, bong bong" get me every time...
Not really sure . After I got into music , the one that still makes me stop and think , is this . The video is pretty crap , but there is just SOMETHING about this song ….
